Ponds - 1st NBA game

Shamorie entered the game with 6 minutes to go with the Raptors up by 27. He looked comfortable out there, albeit against 2nd and 3rd stringers. His first bucket was a goaltending call and then he got one to go through soon thereafter. His 3 ball attempt looked good. His confidence is probably high after having a few nice G League games under his belt and now some actual NBA minutes.

What an amazing feeling it must have been for Shamorie when he walked onto the court in a NBA game. Congrats to him. I rarely look at NBA box scores except to check on how one of our guys did. Now I have one more player to follow.

He even got a mention on SNY's Sports show last night showing him scoring

Wonderful news. Due to the government wanting viewers to watch a certain amount of Canadian television content individuals cannot get ESPN, however we have TSN ( The Sports Network ) a Canadian sporting channel which shows all of the Raptors Games. Very excited to be able to watch Shamorie play on a regular basis. The Raptors have had an inordinate amount of injuries so hopefully he will get sufficient pt and will remain in the league. Here is to Shamorie making the most of his opportunity.

When did Canada become Russia? Hope you are like Kramer and only like Canadian football. ;) :)

I was in Winnipeg last week 2 days before the Grey cup, on business. Everyone was pumped over the Blue Bombers, who had last won in 1992.

I think most of us saw this as an improbability for Ponds. Great for him - although a very personal decision it may just turn out splendidly for him. Rooting for him to stick. If not, perhaps he will be back sooner than later, and this will only fuel his desire to reach his dreams

Game Highlight clip at bottom.

So he was called up to the NBA for one game and then sent back down?[/quote]

He was up for multiple games, but only saw action in one.

Yeah they can call up him and down pretty frequently. I'm sure there is eventually a cap of some sorts.

That 29 point game where he just took over vs Long Island is a video of beauty.
I wish he could shoot like that all the time.
He would have no trouble sticking anywhere.
Thanks for posting the link.

Great for Shamorie but I seem to have lost track of Jacarr. He was on the Pacers but hasn't been listed in recent box scores.

Jakarr is injured. Has a back problem of some sort. Also 2 Pacer bigs have returned from injury apparently so his minutes would be decreasing.

Great for Shamorie, I hope he gets back to the big time and makes the most of it. He gave us a lot of good times two years ago.

Curious how many players do we have in the NBA?

I loved the Knicks of the 60's and early 70's, then went strictly to college BB, NBA means almost nothing to me except for when one of our players gets there; Mullin's NBA career for example.

Currently.....Harkless and Sampson.

We also have Simon and Ponds on Two-Way Contracts. Sir Dom was drafted in the 2nd round and spent a short time in the G-League before going overseas.

I think that's it.
