Thank you for listening / watching Tommy. It's something I may explore more in the future, for now I only really focus on the guest episodes on Youtube. It's just another piece of content to cut up and prep and post, which is already time consuming with just audio. But I know Youtube is such a popular platform for podcasts and my guy Pat does such a good job on there with it.

I appreciate your request and it's something I hope to do more of

Great job by both you and Coach. Very Interesting

Frustrating loss. We are fired up and ticked off, as we recap the poor first 30 minutes, why St. John's wasn't ready after a week off, why didn't Pitino call off the press or play more zone? The bench was M.I.A., and the warts that are popping up with this team that are seemingly not going away

Dave, you are a great listen! I have a couple of thoughts on the discussion on shooting. 1. we recuited mainly offensive players. They have never been asked to make the level of effort on defense that they are now. I think they are mentally and physically more fatigued than what they are used to which will impact the shooting pct. They are used to having a lot more energy and effort available for offense. That isn't the case this year. 2. We take a lot of three point shots off the dribble. (stepbacks, pullups and off high ball screens) There are not many catch and shoot opportunities. We almost never drive and kick out to a shooter. That is impacting the shooting pct as well.

This podcast was excellent. You were fair in discussing the post game press conference, which only goes to show you that coaches ride the same emotional roller coaster as fans. When things are good they were looking up, still lots of room for improvement, etc. After losing 5 of 6, it was, you know, these guys just aren't that good.

For many of these NIL players, this is the most money they will ever make playing basketball. It adds a layer of complexity coaching a kid who is make 10-15k per month, driving a new car, etc. I think the reality of roster makeovers each year has hit Rick. You have almost no time to teach.

DePaul will be chicken soup for us , and if we can pop up to 4th or 5th place, this will just be the low point of our season.

The dark side of me says, "Well our program has tried and failed witg everything else. Why not with a HOF coach?"

Trust the force, Luke, trust the force.

I had a prominent high school coach tell me in the summer the hardest job he has besides coaching is talking to his players to essentially see the forest through the trees. Meaning, hammering home that chasing the quick $ of NIL now instead of landing in an optimal spot that could mean $$$$$ in 4-5 years. Trying to teach them to tune out the noise, handlers, and see things a little more long term.

I think Pitino's NIL message was a flare for the need for help, I think it was him venting, I think it was him frustrated with building a team that he doesn't have to teach concepts from day 1 again. Unfortunately tis the way of life for now.
