Pied Piper Debuts!!!!

He really looks like he is on the 2012-2013 Redmen. He just shot an airball and is 3-15 from the field and 0-2 from the line.

Embarrassing.

He's doomed

Well played sir, well played ;)

My embarrassing was actually my reaction to the OP using the word embarrassing.
If Phil Greene had the same game line or same brief few minutes I was referring to you would have called it embarrassing. If D'Lo played the same way Harkless just did(as he did a few times this year) you would have defended him, so it's all relative. I love Harkless, wish he would have stayed and believe he will eventually be a very good pro. However, most of the posters in this thread have made comments only when he has a good game and I was simply pointing out a game in which he played like garbage. It is no shame to get abused by LeBron because it happens to everyone but he made a few boneheaded plays in a very short span. I was trying to compare this to the play we have witnessed by SJU this year. Marco threw up an airball in the last game and everyone thinks he can't shoot anymore, Pointer committed two stupid fouls and everyone pointed that out, Branch, Garrett and others committed some horrible turnovers and people noticed. We killed the Redmen for doing all of the things Mo somehow accomplished in just over a minute. I think it shows that just because Mo played some of the worst basketball I have ever seen doesn't mean that we don't think he has a bright future. Just the same, simply because our team looked utterly putrid at times doesn't mean that they can't achieve great things next year.

To pinpoint ONE game (in the NBA)
(Vs the Heat)
(As a 19 yr old)
(Oh and the team has won what 30 straight games)
and call it embarrassing is putting your hat in the ring for best performance in dramatic film.

Philly wishes they had the option of throwing Mo to the wolves and seeing if he could defend LeBron.

You really could only see one side of things obviously. I did not originally realize that you started the thread so I now understand that you only want positive things said about Mo. You noted that I pinpointed one game but you failed to mention that most of the comments in this thread pinpointed one game and his performance in those specific games. My comment just happened to be negative. Please re-read my post, I did not say he was an embarrassment overall or did not belong in the NBA. I love Harkless and think he has had a good rookie campaign and will have a highly successful NBA career. My comment was specific to a couple of minutes of play that I happened to watch and anyone who watched that short stretch would have to agree with the comment. Stop trying to turn the comment into more than it was, as Mark Jackson would say, "You're better than that".
I was also very frustrated with his play tonight for two reasons. First of all, I wanted to watch him play well, secondly I desperately wanted the Heat to lose and the Magic actually might have had a chance if he did not play so badly tonight.

Your right. You did not say his play was embarrassing. Just that he embarrassed himself on a particular series of plays. Apologies

Good luck to Mo and Orlando tonight as they close out their season. I know Mo and Orlando have to find a way to deal with Miami in order to try to tie or better Dunlap's Charlotte team or end with sole possession of last place for the year. Mo has had a pretty good freshman campaign and since his last Miami game has avereraged 15/5. Let's hope he can end on a high note.

On the same note good luck to coach Dunlap. A win tonight triples the win total of this team a year ago. The record isn't great but it was a step in the right direction.

Harkless has made the biggest strides out of everyone, according to O’Quinn. It’s easy to forget that Harkless just turned 20 years old in May. Few players in the league have Harkless’ upside and his teammates are excited to see what he’ll do in his sophomore season.
“I would say Moe [has improved the most],” O’Quinn said. “Moe was thrown into the fire last year and he was just on the court at one point. Now, he feels himself, he knows what he can do, he knows what he wants to do, he goes up with confidence when he goes through the lane and he’s shooting the three at a high clip right now. It’s impressive because it’s like, man, this kid played the five in college? Now, he’s going to be a great perimeter player in the NBA.”
“For the first half of the summer, I was working on my body, ballhandling, keeping my dribble through contact and stuff like that; now, I’ve been spending a little bit more time focused on my shot,” Harkless said. “It’s just repetition. I think confidence comes from doing something over and over, and that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve spent a lot of hours in the gym and my jump shot has been improving. … I’m just trying to make constant improvement. I have a few personal goals that I’m looking forward to trying to achieve. Hopefully it’s a big year for me.”

A player can not go in every game an have a great game There are a lots a factors that come into play when a player plays great Just that a kid can have his dream come true and play in the NBA he is a winner He has the talent to excel at this level expect big things from MO

Congrats to Moe:

The Orlando Magic have exercised their third-year team option on the contracts of forward Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson, while also exercising their fourth-year team option on the contracts of Tobias Harris and Nikola Vučević, General Manager Rob Hennigan announced today.

All four players are now under contract through the 2014-15 season.

Harkless (6-9, 220, 5/11/93) played in 76 games (59 starts) during his rookie campaign (2012-13) with Orlando, averaging 8.2 ppg., 4.4 rpg. and 1.16 stlpg. in 26.0 minpg. He ranked sixth in the NBA in steals-to-turnover ratio (1.28, 88/69) and 40th in steals. Harkless also ranked among all NBA rookies in scoring (11th), rebounding (9th), field goal percentage (8th, .461), steals (2nd) and blocked shots (8th, 0.82 blkpg.). He was acquired by Orlando as part of a four-team, 12-player trade on Aug. 10, 2012, along with Vučević. Harkless was originally selected in the first round (15th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by Philadelphia.

Harkless had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in the Magic's first win.

Not a bad young nucleus. Moe/Olapido/Nicholson. Throw in Wiggins next year and that team could go places. :)

Actually you forgot Tobias Harris who is hurt and hasn't played yet this year. I'd actually worry a bit about Moe if Wiggins went to Orlando. Both SF's.
