Overseas Recruiting Strategy

To be fair you should have mentioned the game at Xavier which is a very tough place to play. I thought the team seemed extremely well coached that day.
The complete opposite of the game at Butler ,another tough place to play.

Ok, and I also omitted the Duke game which we were winning by double digits in the second half and then another unmitigated disaster happened. And we can add the PC win at MSG too for shits n giggles. But have we really "played better" or have we just played worse competition?

They ran out of gas in that Duke game, that was quite obvious to even the most casual of basketball fans.
All the loses to top echelon teams have been because we ran out of gas at the end. Not because of coaching or lack of effort from these players. I know I know IF the coach would have not taken the 2014 recruiting cycle off we PROBABLY wouldn't have run out of gas, just like IF you weren't the Mavens son, you PROBABLY wouldn't be such a douche.

And if ur mother would've swallowed u instead of letting daddy proceed to go *your screenname* on her the board would have one less poster with the wrong # of chromosomes. Ok?

Nah. Mine was better. Keep trying though bud

Not really.
Pm me if u want to meet up and chat at the GTown game.
I won't waste the boards time taking up posts making an example of you any more.

Can we do it after the Xavier game instead. Parking lot on 35th and 8th?
May be time to grow up here. Macho crap is better served with PMs.

I reckoned that people would sense my sarcasm. Obviously not

I have gone a few rounds with many on this forum while always being sarcastic and never serious even with you raw one. ;) But I am learning to make sure I use these damn emoticons instead of typing LOL. LOL!!
That said, I try not to question fellow fans loyalty to St. John's as I know many of you spend your hard earned money to support the team and school and attend games. Like A holes we all have an opinion whether truth or gossip and most people are much nicer in person than on this site. I do not think Hit and Raw would ever exchange these threats in person but the impersonal Internet has and will always portray a darker side of ourselves than we really intended to convey.
Before ever becoming a member of this site I had common friends with the Maven and in real life he is a different person than his diatribes on various social platforms. I am sure young Hit is also being portrayed more negative than he really is and that goes with being a chip off the old block.
The bottom line is we all express what we think and what we think is best for our common interest here, St. John's basketball, and no one has to break bread in the process like Maven did with Lavin and Keady the first two years they were in NYC. Some fans never come to the realization that these coaches operate on a celebrity level and most that try to infiltrate their social network will be sorely disappointed. Keep things lite and keep them informal here and we will be much better redmen friends instead of challenges to rumbles in dark alleys. B) :) ;)

Agree about your point on impersonal internet site. It is much like when one is driving a car as I have been shocked to personally witness otherwise mild mannered people exhibit road rage behavior. Hey, that gives me an idea. Maybe they can settle this with a friendly old road rage match! ;) ;) :) :) :) :)

Lol... I don't question his loyalty or anyone else's on this forum.. I was giving him crap and he wanted to act tough and meet up with me. So I was playfully going along with it.. Sorta like meeting in the school yard after the bell rings.
I apologize to the group for allowing myself to take this train off course. Not here for a pissing match. I just see things through rose colored glasses when it comes to our team I guess. I never give up hope and always try to stay positive....

Do you think being tired can lead to not rebounding as well as you do when you have stronger legs under you? Same with fouls. Are you more likely to play sloppy D if you are tired? Do you think it's coincidence that they hang for 30 minutes against top 10 competition and then slowly fall apart the last 10 minutes?

Our starting pf is in the running for BE poy.

I think we were outrebounded just as much in the 1st half of games as in the second half.
And we're in foul trouble because our starters play 38+ mins against the good teams.
Sure, people make more fouls when they're tired.
They also accumulate more fouls when there is no bench to rely on and they have to play the full game.
With the exception of Obekpa at times, I don't really notice our starters looking winded at the end of games.

He's a wing Mase.
But even if you count Dom as a 4, which is fine, then we don't have a starting SF.
Take your pick.

Desco's point is dead on. This team is another solid big away from being really, really good. The staff thought Thomas was going to be that guy, and that falls on them. I like playing small with Dom at the 4, but if we had even an undersized Center/PF type (like Ty Grant), we'd be ranked all year instead of on the bubble. Not to mention we could have played a guy like that at Center with all of Obekpa's injuries.

If we had a Ty Grant type, we could have lived with JDR and Amar being the other two in the rotation. And we'd have probably at least 3 more wins, maybe more.
