Open Practice this Sunday oct 1

Any idea how many people they’re expecting? Want to take my kids if the timing lines up. I would hate to get there and get shut out

With Pitino as coach? You should get there by 11am, I'm expecting the line to be very long, atleast 10k to show up.
Once inside you better have ear plugs, No seat will be available, they'll allow lots of fans to sit on the stairs, the crowd will be so juiced they'll be chanting RICKY RICKY RICKYRICKY RICKY RICKY, after 20 minutes Ricky will be gesturing with his arms for everyone to calm down and take a seat.

At that point everyone in the arena will bum rush the court and pick him up and throw him up in the air, and others will catch him, and they'll throw him up ect, while yelling hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!!!!

Rick will just give up, put his hand to his face and wonder: "What the hell did I get myself into with these crazy New Yorkers."
:ROFLMAO:

Fans should camp out the night before in tents outside CA in Pitinoville!

Will the Open Practice be streamed ?
Don’t know, maybe some rules against streaming a practice.

But if it can be, the school should be promoting the hell out of everything Coach Pitino. They have done a phenomenal job so far.

He is a magician with a microscope. He has that “It” factor that can captivate an audience. Easy to see why he can wow a recruit.

No doubt he is going to Win big here. So refreshing. The old knocks about the St. John’s program are being destroyed brick by brick by Coach Pitino.

Good bless Father Shanley and the people that made it happen at SJU.

Home football teams play Sunday night (Jets) and Monday night (Giants) so I expect that there will be an excellent crowd.

Looking forward to the updates. I’d like to hear about who is getting after it most on defense.
They all will be getting after it on defense. Rick made it clear that if you don’t bring the defense for him you ride the pine. The days of our opponents getting 25 open looks from 3 point land a game (also known as Street Fighting mode) are over.

aside from winning!

You said it well ! not seeing wide open three after three game after game has to be one of the things excited about

For the past few years I was very nonchalant about opportunities to attend practice.

I attended one last year at Tafner and barely paid attention. My dear friend Panther was also there and just about the entire team knew who he is. If he didn't kmow a damned thing about basketball (and he knows as much as anyone) he would still be a special person to be around our program.

I am so excited to go to this practice tomorrow. It's an opportunity to see a genius in his laboratory, as Looie liked to call practice.

As far as CRP publicly being critical of players in general and specifically on Thursday night, I was watching by new friend Chris Ledlum's reaction when Coach spoke. He listened intently with his head down, continually nodded his head in agreement and smiled softly at getting critically skewered by Coach.

The older players definitely understand and get Rick's style and are loving the opportunity to improve under a master teacher. They all have great respect to a HOFer identifying what they are deficient at and are eager to improve.

This attitude of players is a breath of fresh air from the last few years from some kids who thought they had already "arrived" and didn't have to listen to or respect the coaching staff.

I asked Chris a question that had his response had been different would not repeat here. I asked, "You don't have to answer this, but is Coach Pitino really THAT good as a teacher?"

Chris pausec and said in a really honest tone, "You know, he sees things that other coaches just don't see, and works with you individually to improve and correct it."

I then shared some things that happened with last year's team, the egregious things. He knows all of the local metro area guys we had, and without defending them offered some intelligent insights. He's an incredible kid, a very mature graduate who without a doubt will be a gigantic force off and on the court. No doubt will be a leader.

I think judging by what others have said about players they have met that this team has an entire roster of hand selected kids for their talent and quality as human beings.

If you haven't watched it check out the YouTube video of Soriano taking new players on a subway tour of NYC. Really great stuff and really funny. Soriano taking role of captain like a big brother to his younger teammates.

Hoping for a huge crowd Sunday. Just feeks important to be there

I would love to hear his insights on the prior years players, however, I completely understand if you aren't comfortable sharing those.

You know, through the years, it's been similar responses at pre-game workouts and pre league
exhibitions and scrimmages. "Sammy looks great and is a changed player, this year.
Joey is passing like a Cousy, and James is unbelievable crashing the boards.
. Only injuries can stop us."

League play starts and UGH!!!. Same old Sammy, Joey and James.

This is different, When CRP teaches and talks, it's ,"The Real McCoy !!"
He's molded a winner.
All hands on Deck,
and bring them home with FAN SUPPORT,

This team deserves it and again WE deserve this team.

THANKS COACH !!!!. Nothing less than top ten by
March Madness , when we amaze the hoops world.
