One thing I would have liked to see from D'Angelo

Harrison is a scorer and had a near career game last night...He's not a passer or assist man. Harrison gets 5 stars for last nights performance. Lavin gets a F for Coaching!

The game last night was so disappointing for many reasons..

Archidonutsado, Doolan, Heslip have destroyed Lavin's alleged defense. Think by this point in the season he should see a trend?

Lavin not being able to adjust his defense over 1/2 the season is a serious coaching deficiency..

Letting Greene handle the ball in OT, rather than Branch is puzzling, if not bizarre. What's with that Steve? We waited a year for this kid, let him play his natural position. He's no Erick Barkley but, he can learn to run the team with some poise and not try to be a playground PG.

How about getting Sampson some plays, even in a off night for him? He need a bunny somewhere and NOT EVEN 1 ALLEY OOOP..

I'D like Lavin to, at least keep Marco on the floor without the rubber band. His rep is as a shooter, let him play more than 30 seconds. He's no more a defensive liability than anyone else on the team..

It's a Box and One, not Box in One. Just saying. Andi it's a gimmick D. Could have been used for some isolated possessions but it's not something you'd want to run all game. The kid's not Kobe.

You're right. The kid had a great night but doesn't warrant a box and 1...actually what was needed was Branch to play him physically (obviously without the overt body slams)...it comes down to intensity...I know what Branch did was stupid and cost us momentum and the lead but I actually think we need start acting a bit nasty and indignant on defense...Lamont Middleton had a nice career at SJ playing tough

You have got to be crazy to criticize a kid who pumped in an efficient 36 points.

The scary thing is that his points didn't come off of set plays. That is downright scary.

How does a coach look the media in the face after a game like that? Our points came from D'Angelo just going bezerk and Amir hustle points. Nothing was drawn up. Nothing. Not one post up. Nothing for Marco to free him up so he just chucks it because he knows he'll get yanked. NotHing.

If D'Angelo gets in foul trouble last night, we lose by 20.

The lack of any kind of concept on offense is a shame. Even the announcer called our stupid weave "false motion".

The staff might as well leave the clipboards at home because we have no need for them.

I wish SJU opened up one of our practices to the media because I am really curious what this team spends their time practicing. Clearly it isn't offensive sets.

Well, Harrison didn't get into foul trouble and we didn't lose by 20. I've never understood this analogy when trying to point out negatives. I can say, if Arcidiacono didn't score 34 points, then 'Nova gets plastered. Or, if the refs wasn't so incompetent, then we win. See how that game is played?

Do you know what "false motion" means in basketball terms? I don't think you actually know. It was similar to what we ran when Dunlap was on our staff. We actually carved up a few teams during the 2010-2011 season (vividly, remember running it against G'town at MSG that particular season) running a similar offense. It lends itself to hitting cutters or possibly, resetting a play.

False motion meaning moving without any purpose.

What cutters have you seen besides the South Carolina game? Stop making excuses as if they're doing something besides playing Catch behind the 3 point line.

This board cannot let go of the 2010 season.

And you know what this strikes me as? A guy who didn't know the intricacies of an offense that Dunlap ran and simply tries to mimic it.

I want to know what play we run from "Cappy". If you call Phil isolating a play, then I'll just step away from this discussion.

False motion is an offense, and it doesn't mean without a purpose. Trust me! You couldn't be further from the truth. Stop allowing your emotions to overwhelm your train of thought.

Making excuses? Once again, you couldn't be further from the truth. Point out where I've made any excuses. I just stated what the offense was set up to do. Whether, it's being done is another thing. I'll chalk this up to your emotions overwhelming your thought process again (as, well as a strawman).

What does my bringing up what this same offense did in 2010 have to do with this season? I just stated this offense was also being ran a couple of seasons ago. It's called facts.

Some of y'all can rant and rave all day. Whatever floats your boat. Personally, I tend to wait until all the info is in before I make a verdict. Things look rocky at the moment, but there is always a chance for the ride to end up a bit smoother. Whether, it happens or not remains to be seen. I'm willing to see what will transpire the rest of the way.

You know, in 2010 there was a point (just about now) when I wondered where the wins would come from and dreaded the upcoming Duke game...fingers crossed for a reprise
