Off target about the portal

On the other hand, there is no state income tax in Florida
Maybe some CPAs could chime in, but I think they would pay some or all income tax to the state where their permanent home (aka parents’ home) is located. They’re like a contractor at an out of state job site, I think.

You’d think we could have Lee sit next to Spike and have Donovan Mitchell come over and say hi before or after the game. I’d be asking too much if Jeremy Lin could also be there and for MSG to show some Linsanity clips on the big screen.

You’d have to think endorsement opportunities playing in NYC would also be greater than playing for Florida. I’d hope his agent is telling him this.
Elliott Cardeau has been in a National Marriott brand commercial two years running and Armando Bacot in a National commercial for Turbo Tax and they played in Chapel Hill.

Koby Brea and a member from Kentucky’s Women’s team were in another National Commercial that started running during the Conference tournaments and they play in Lexington.

You don’t have to be in NYC to get endorsement’s

Yes that’s true. It’s even more complicated because he is a dual citizen with Canada which creates additional reporting requirements. Ontario taxes are just as high as NY.

That is exactly correct. Although if gets an apartment off campus, registers to vote and registers car in FL, can make an argument that he’s a fl resident. But moving back to his home state after 8 months & graduation would kill his argument

A friend just sent me this under Dick Hoops Weiss:
Cincinnati forward Dillon Mitchell has committed to St. John's. if Rick Pitino can get Xaverian Lee, Ian Jackson, who are visiting this weekend, Storm will be a pre-season Top 10 team with a huge upside.

Of course in this day and age not sure what and when to believe anything 🤷🏼‍♂️
