SJU Portal Targets

That’s a mental image I really didn’t need.

I hope the recruits catch the Knicks game tonight so they feel the vibe of a rabid MSG crowd (at least at the beginning as the Knicks have not done well at all against the Cavs).
You’d think we could have Lee sit next to Spike and have Donovan Mitchell come over and say hi before or after the game. I’d be asking too much if Jeremy Lin could also be there and for MSG to show some Linsanity clips on the big screen.

You’d have to think endorsement opportunities playing in NYC would also be greater than playing for Florida. I’d hope his agent is telling him this.

On the other hand, there is no state income tax in Florida

Our great advantage for any SJU Portal Target is HOF Coach Rick Pitino. That is a lot but that is All. Playing at the Garden is a plus but let’s face it it’s “a” factor not “THE” factor. Money is the other but most of these schools are swimming in or around the same waters. Most of the schools mentioned appear to have good teams.

Hopefully, and I think they will, see the great benefit of playing for Pitino. No doubt he helps players be better and challenges kids. One year with Pitino could work wonders with a kid like Lee. Of course, they do have options and it’s up to them where they think they can improve the most.

For everyone asking about visits, they have all been (logically) staggered. Started with Lee in the early afternoon. I did hear he went through a work out and was (not surprising) "impressive"

I think St. John's has a real shot here.

The sell is really really easy. He played at Princeton, MSG isn't that far. He's trained with Jeremy Lin, no one better to vouch for MSG than #7 in a Knicks jersey. Rick Pitino development...all the talent on this roster to help offload the pressure from what was needed at Princeton. And of course the NIL opportunities in NY as well as the spotlight of NY to get you to where you want to be professionally.

We will see. Like I said before, you can't ask for anything more than a fighters chance when you're up allegedly against the reigning national champions and Duke.

Johnnies getting the first visit says something also. Time will tell.

I hope they are giving the kids Red Storm rain jackets. This weather sucks. CRP is a closer, but 70 degrees and sunny would have been nice.

Pretty sure the school isn't allowed to take recruits to Knicks games, or arrange for them to have Knicks tickets. Violation of NCAA recruiting rules.
