NY Rangers Playoffs

What's the score tonight?
We know it's going to be a one goal margin.
I say 3-2 Rangers with Kreider, Brassard and St. Louis scoring.
Ovechkin gets both goals for the bad guys.

The Rangers have won their last five Game 7s dating to 2012, including a win in Pittsburgh last season that capped a rally from a 3-1 deficit and the last two series against Washington (2012 and ’13).

In the 2013 series, the Rangers overcame deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 to win. They are one win away from overcoming a 3-1 deficit in this series.
While the Capitals have Ovechkin leading the way, the Rangers have Henrik Lundqvist. The goaltender is 5-0 with a 0.80 goals-against average and a .973 save percentage in his last five Game 7 appearances.

Look at those #s. Lundqvist will shut it down "all game baby, all game."

Rangers/Caps--helluva series. Seriously.

Great series from both teams – as good as it gets. Great goaltending, speed, good tough hockey. Loved every minute of it.

These #s are freaking amazing:

Here's some from the article

Game Notes via the Rangers:
– SEVENTH HEAVEN – The Rangers have now posted a 9-5 record in Game 7s in franchise history, including a 7-0 record in all-time Game 7s at MSG. The Blueshirts are the only NHL team who has played at least four Game 7s at home and has won each contest. The Rangers have won each of the last six Game 7s they have played, dating back to the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in 2012 against Ottawa. The Blueshirts’ six consecutive Game 7 victories are tied for the NHL record (Detroit – 1949-1964; Boston – 1983-1994). New York has also won nine of its last 10 Game 7s, dating back to the Patrick Division Semifinals in 1992 against New Jersey. Five of the Rangers’ last six Game 7s, including each of the last three, have been 2-1 victories for the Blueshirts. The Rangers’ nine all-time wins in Game 7 of a playoff series are tied for fifth among all NHL teams, and their seven all-time wins in Game 7 of a playoff series at home are tied for fourth among all NHL teams.
– COMEBACK KIDS – New York became the first team to rally from a three-games-to-one-deficit and win a playoff series in back-to-back years in NHL history (also did so in the Metropolitan Division Finals against Pittsburgh in 2014). The Rangers have won a playoff series after trailing the series three games to one for the second time in franchise history. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Blueshirts are the second team in NHL history who has won two playoff series when trailing three games to one over a two-year span (Minnesota rallied from a three-games-to-one deficit in two consecutive series during the 2003 Playoffs).

I can't wait for Saturday and watch my boys kick some ass.

What a game. What a series. What a team.

Long live King Henrik!

Received this email from the Rangers about LIRR service for Saturday's game.

May 15, 2015

Please review the important information below regarding changes to Long Island Railroad service this weekend as it affects travel to Madison Square Garden for the Rangers Eastern Conference Finals game, Saturday, May 16th vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning.

During this weekend, May 16th-17th, the LIRR is replacing the Ellison Avenue Bridge, which spans the LIRR's Main Line tracks in the Village of Westbury. Demolition of the bridge will require a 48-hour suspension of train service between Hicksville and Mineola. This service suspension will primarily affect the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches. However, ALL Long Island Rail Road branches will be affected with revised departure and arrival times for weekend trains.

With Saturday's Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 at Madison Square Garden, the Long Island Railroad is encouraging customers to give themselves an extra hour of travel time, and to arrive early.

Please visit http://web.mta.info/lirr/ellisonave/ellisonave-weekend05-16-17-15.htm for more information regarding the Ellison Avenue Bridge construction and to plan your travel to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, May 16th.

1 down 3 to go to play for the stanley cup baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a nice feed Hayes to Dominic Moore, I love watching this team play.

To the poster who said "do basketball players even like hockey these days."
That's not the point. The main reason going is to witness MSG rocking when things are real good. That if you come to play for SJU, that you could have MSG rocking for you, right in the heart of NYC.
I think all SJU recruits should watch Ranger home games now just envision them making MSG rock like that (especially if you're born and raised in big NYC.),

With Chris Slice Adam and possibly Pinckney, there's no excuse to go to uk ku and go out of state or even upstate. If nyc kids want to be apart of something big, well then stay local, because big thing are gonna happen in Queens.
Next step is yours. Represent the city that you were born and raised in, where you play bball in the playgrounds with your friends growing up, in the greastest city in the world, or represent a city/state on your chest that you never even stepped foot in besides taking a visit to the school.

Choice seems pretty simple to me, but do as you wish.

great start. gotta watch out for these penalties. tb is killer on the power play

Washington had the #1 PP, and didn't do much with them.
Rangers got a great PK lead by McDonagh, Girardi, and Staal.

Unlike Washington, T.B. play to how we love playing. More uptempo, and open ice. Washington was a much more physical team, we are a bad matchup for T.B., they better hope that Stamkos can shake off Staal. If not then look for one game in this series to be a 5-1 game.

I thought game one was the best game they played all playoffs. As old school said it has a lot to do with the matchup. The amount of open ice was awesome for the team especially Hagelin. Win game 2 tonight and I'm really liking our chances.

I hope we can win this series quickly like 4 or 5 games. The rangers were dead by the end of the Stanley cup last year. I remember saying in that overtime of game 5 last year if this goes 6 it would be fun but I have no idea how they are going to win, they were so tired.
