Nurideen Lindsey

Glad he left. He is awful and can't even dominate the MAAC.

Agreed but I wouldn't even call him a good player at this stage of the game, never mind dominate.
Perhaps the most over-hyped recruit ever.

Wasn't he a 3 star recruit? I'm sure there have been much bigger busts, but yes he was very overrated.

Clearly he was in foul trouble. And jsj's link showed that he hit the FTs to seal the game unlike vs. Texas A&M.

Nuri is the star of that team. Good for him.

He is NOT the star of the Rider team......he is the asterisk *

Friend of mine went to the game last night. Nuri fouled out with 13 minutes left. Said he looked even more disinterested than the Detroit game we had last year. How is that even possible haha

Very strange kid...he can put up 20 pts one day then the next he has a ton of TO's and is ice cold shooting 28%. Nowhere near consistent enough for the big time.

0 turnovers. Probably his best game to date.

His coach was probably happy when he fouled out. maybe it was by design.

I have to wonder if anyone has ever had a game with 0 assists/rebounds/turnovers/steals while managing to foul out. It seems that would be incredibly difficult if not impossible, though in fairness it only took him 15 minutes to amass the fouls.

It could only mean one thing.......he does not return for the Spring Semester, blames the coach and flies to the Taiwan to play pro ball.

Still and all, when he did leave, overall team team and coaches were happier to see him go than stay.

Nurideen is grossly overrated and I still have a hard time wishing him luck.

Understandable.

Kid has been through a lot in his life. I'm not going to sit here and hold a grudge or hope he fails. If basketball at Rider or wherever is keeping him sane, good for him.

I have no issue with him leaving.

Its the way he left and the the things him and his posse said while heading out the door.

Looks like he's lost his starting job three games ago, and did not play vs. Iona. Anyone know if he is injured? By his stats, it just look like his shooting has been horrible in all ways, including 25% from 3, and 63% from the line. IF he quiet SJU for being benched, is he going to walk away again?

Here's a perfect reason for any college athlete to take advantage of an educational opportunity, take classes serious, and get a degree. This guy's basketball career is going nowehre.

Got a concussion in practice a few weeks ago.

Another guy who's disappeared is Dwayne Polee at San Diego State. He's averaging about 2 minutes and 0 points per game over last five games, including two DNPs.

Was he that overrated?

Some coaches take players with potential and develop them. Lavin would have done that for Polee. I don't sense that Steve Fisher is that kind of coach.

Polee was so lacking in skills, by the end of the season Polee would start, and then get yanked almost immediately, supposedly fulfilling a promise made to Polee that he would start. His shot was very erratic, he could NOT dribble with his left hand at all, and he was a liability on defense, not able to resist the urge to gamble in the passing lanes and lose nearly all the time. His positives did not nearly make up for his deficiencies.

When you compare Polee to a guy like Obepka, who certainly has to improve so many aspects of his game, there was nothing about Polee's game like Obepka's shot blocking to warrant having him on the court. The reality is, that with Harkness, Harrison, Garrett, Greene et al coming in, followed by Sampson, Branch, Obepka, etc, Polee would likely have found himself playing less and less during Lavin's regime

Lindsey is leaving college to turn pro as per several comments on Twitter
Wonder where he will end up in?
Are there professional basketball teams in Siberia?

He gets a lot of bad advice, but I wish him good luck with his decision.

He is the past, and today I am happy about the future.

I got the feeling he felt bad after missing those 2 free throws that would have won the game. He probably got stage fright playing in front of a large crowd he said I don't want this. Remember his last game ? Hard to figure him out going from SJU to Arkansas and finally to nowhere Ridar.

Haven't seen it said if he's dropping out of school this semester, or simply not returning for next year. He attended Junior college for two years (didn't play hoops the first year). Then his time at St. Johns, followed by this year at Drexel. I didn't hear talk at either school of academic issues regarding his eligibility, so it would seem he was doing a normal progression towards a degree. If so, he could possibly be only a month or so shy of a 4 year degree from Rider.

I thought it was well known that he was having academic issues while he was here. Rider accepted him but who knows what kind of academic standards they have.
