Not Aprils fools joke

Glad you guys are fine Mike. I am also in the Andean region, but luckily Bogota is 9,000 feet high so likely not in the path of a tsunami. Have a safe return trip. PS. what was the name of the burger place in Bogota? I heard about an awesome place in the Texaco station across the street from my hotel.

Next time stay in Huntington, Maher. Cafe Buenos Aires is all the South America you need.

Get home safe ... and stay there.

El Corral. Great burgers

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone !!

Phone service working. Looks like the phones went down because of the overload of phone calls after the Tsunami alert.

We are fine. Not sure if anything happened in Chorillos with the rumor there. Probably going to stay away from the water for the next day or so because they said here there are still aftershocks and down here news doesn't travel so well when phones go down

Here till sunday. Tomorrow weather permitting I am going to play it safe and jump off a cliff near here on the coast and finally try paragliding. At least if there is a tsunami then I can watch it from the air :)

Glad you are safe Mike. if you or Gman see any tall South Americans down there who are not tripping over themselves, please call 1-800- Help SJU :cheer:

Same place my guy recommended. The one closest to the hotel is in a gas station. I don't think I will have time to get over there. I could skip a $60 steak and head over there instead.

Did you go to Club Colombia yet ? we went there for lunch again on our last day in Bogota.

Get the burger also if you can stuff it down. It's worth it :) But definitely don't pass up the $60 steak

Crazy thing is yesterday Nathalie, myself and her dad were walking around downtown Lima and we went to this local restaurant which looked like a dive and had the most ridiculously awesome 2 course lunch which was flat out off the hook peruvian food and the total bill cost me $14 U.S for all of us.

Right now going across the street from our hotel for the best Ceviche in Lima at Punta Azul. I book this hotel each time specifically because it's across the street from the restaurant and you need to get there at 11 or else you will be waiting 2 hours on line to get in and I don't wait in lines for anything which is probably why I'm a St Johns fan because there is never enough fans for lines.

How much longer you in Bogota ?

And try the club colombia beer brand and if you can try stopping ny a bogota beer company bar afterwards. They let us do a tasting of their beers. Pretty good stuff but I liked the club colombia beer the best. ( I don't think it's related to the restaurant )

Feel free to take a couple of players with you on your cliff jumping expedition. Only problem is they are not able to hit the ocean under normal circumstances... :)
Glad that you are ok. Enjoy!

You guys are unbelievable. Not 12 hours ago you were worried about being wiped off the face of the earth, and now you are ready to do it to yourself paragliding, and at the same time contemplating your next good meal. Hats off to you - you know how to live, or something like that.

In Bogota for today. Tomorrow I get to take a private plane and helicopter to an oil field then back home. I haven't a chance to do any touristy stuff.

We cancelled club Colombia and went to Harry sasson instead and it was amazing. Not sure where we are eating tonight. I have drank plenty of club Colombia beers and have 6 hours to kill tomorrow night at the airport so I'm sure more will be consumed.

lol.we like to do extreme sports stuff and off the wall things and I've wanted to do the paragliding since I first saw them jumping off the cliff here years ago. I bought a GoPro camera 2 weeks just for this so I can take video of it so now I just have to hope we get enough wind

Feel like I have 9 lives now since we dodged the tsunami warning :)
