Not a lot of LoVe(tt)

How is it possible for someone to only hear negative news? Where was Mr Google for the Matt A or Slice signings? Durand Johnson, M'vouika, Ellison, Owens, Williams, Musssini, and Sima have all joined the team without so much as a whisper from the guy.

He claims two recruits might be ineligible, so where's the news on the other five guys that are presumably eligible? Certainly someone has been cleared.

When you recruit someone, you assume he is eligible why would anyone post- we landed Jones, 6 4 PG and oh he is eligible.

Well, if this guy has the connection to the athletic department like he claims, you'd think maybe ONCE he'd give us something somewhat positive instead of being the program's Grim Reaper.

And after all this program has been through, the first question most fans have after someone commits is whether the kid is eligible. Maybe that changes in a few years, but it's a reality we've lived with for a long time.

I was thinking the same thing. He seems to have inside info, but never posts a positive event. Sorry Marillac, didnt read your latest post when I wrote this.

;) The only connection I have is to my wi-fi. You have a very good member (Paultzman) he always beats me to the good news. Enjoy what you get or if you don't like it wait few days/sometimes months and read it in the paper.

Because of course everyone hides good news the same way they hide bad news.

Random thought of the day: How does Marcus LoVett have 27,000 followers on Twitter?

I'm pretty sure he was ranked top 5 in the country following his freshmen year. I believe his videos are a big hit on YouTube as well. Don't think it takes that much to be "famous" nowadays, unfortunately.

Random thought of the day: How does Marcus LoVett have 27,000 followers on Twitter?

Best bet would be he bought them. (Not real accounts) Very simple to do. Most common with celebrities who buy in huge #'s

That would be a terrible bet actually.
The kid wen to THREE high schools remember? He was a star basketball player...that's good for 5,000+.
He's also a youtube and mixtape sensation. All it takes is a shout out or two from an NBA guy to attract ten thousand followers in a single day.

He has more followers than entire SJU team combined I Briscoe and Diallo . Wake up man.

That's some conspiracy theory :)

Ugh, every time I start to get excited about this program something bad happens. Couldn't we have enjoyed the Mussini commit for a week or two before bad news. Hopefully we get a Rowan or Papa to commit soon. I guess getting Mussini was a much bigger deal than originally thought it would be. The kid will be running the show with I guess Ellison backing him up.

If we can lock up Rowan and a serviceable big man we can still be a good team come February with the pieces that we have. Getting Big Papa would be a dream come true but just getting someone serviceable at center would be ok.

I am with Mullin to the end but we are going to suck next year and at this point hopefully we will have 5 scholarship players eligible. He was in a tough spot but things are not going well. I have every confidence in the world that by year 3 we will start to see things trending the way we want.

But again those saying things are going well, I predict will be the first to turn next season when we stink. Understanding the situation we will be in is not negative but a willingness to allow this process to run its course. Things are going to be bad. In fact everything that we hoped could make this transition go smoothly went the wrong way. People need to understand that it will get worse before it gets better.

Hi there "we are SJU"
I like a lot of what you shared
Totally disagree that posters positive will be the first to turn when things go south. First of all things might not be so bad ( oh forgive me, optimistic again) second many who do believe in a positive spin are also loyal and stick with their man. Sort of like Lincoln with Grant.

I think we will be fine and (I'm probable not alone with this view) no matter the recruiting or WL record, I'm with CM & Company. For the long haul. End of the discussion.
Our glory years are returning though I agree it might not be in 2015-16.

And finally, seems much more likely that the "bitching and moaning" crowd will turn, or rather bitch & moan even louder with any faltering in the Fall. Not those of positive persuasion.

Thanks again "we are"
all the best
After all, these are the good old (as in Louie) days.

I'm with you SS&G. Willing to go through a potentially rough year with Mullin to get to the good ones.

That being said, it's too early for me to write off the upcoming season. There are still too many unknowns. Maybe the cards will all fall our way and LoVett and Sima will both be eligible and we get Rowan and Papagiannis. Then all of the sudden we're an exciting young team who might be able to surprise folks. Even if none of the cards fall our way and we struggle though at least we'll still get to watch our new guys like Mussini, Ellison, Williams (and hopefully LoVett & Sima) develop and mature. It'll be interesting either way!

I was definitely a member of the bitching and moaning crowd regarding our ex-coach. But those lines of demarcation aren't what they used to be.

I think you'll see a lot less negativity this season, even if we struggle a bit.

Myself, Avon, Otis, Monte etc were critical of the old regime, but we weren't and aren't negative about the program overall. I think there will be 2-3 seasons worth of patience given to Chris and his staff. Probably more considering his status amongst the fanbase.

Thank you Desco for your tempered and well reasoned post! I think most of we posters seek the same thing: heaven, oh wait I mean:
To be able to enjoy the program especially with the nice direction it's heading.
Thanks again.
