Mets “brain trust” (I assume Stearns was in on the “strategic approach”) came up with a thoughtful game plan; change pitchers quickly until we find those that don’t have it so our fans aren’t stressed all afternoon.

They would have been better off starting him and seeing if he could go nine.

Mendoza unquestionably has to go. You don’t survive a team quitting like this. Stearns should be worried too. I haven’t seen a guy flop on so many trades like he did. Complete disaster all around

I was not on the fire Mendoza side, but to go out like this when they had one more opportunity to make the playoffs is unforgivable.

There is a lot of soul searching that needs to be done this offseason.
