The Mets thought he was a low ceiling player and profiled as “just a DH”. Here’s the thing. When we live in the 21st Century there is a position in the lineup called DH. Who knew? Maybe “just a DH”, although not ideal, is something to consider.

Don’t know what I’m more surprised at: that we have come from behind or that we are scoring most of our runs on singles and doubles.
 
Great to pour on the runs and not let up. And while it is easy to forget after scoring 13 runs, but the bullpen was the unsung hero.

They threw five hitless innings, and gave up just one walk (by Stanek in ninth). It swung the momentum.

Hopefully this is what we see from the bullpen going forward.
 
Going to be interesting to see what Manaea and McLean do in the next two nights. Senga appears to have entered a completely unreliable phase, and Manaea is right there to be joining him.
McLean on the other hand has shown stuff capable of getting big league hitters out, but two games really mean nothing, and enters the game, win or lose tonight, with a certain degree of pressure. I don’t view the game as meaning anything as to the long term possibilities but very curious as to how he reacts to the situation.

I wonder if the Mets bring up Sproat at some point and work him out of the bullpen since they moved him there with Syracuse.
 
Well Friday just became a lot more interesting. These kids grow up so fast. Time to let them fly.
