New York Mets 2025 Season

Hagenman looked good…just threw strikes. Two days in a row now without using any of our high leverage bullpen arms. Unfortunately for Hagenman, he's almost certainly going to be sent down since he is useless for the next 4-5 days.

Darryl has become infinitely more likable as a Mets alum than he was as a Mets player.

Kudos for turning his life around. Not easy.
I met Darryl at a Bernie Williams jazz concert in Ridgefield Ct. about 7 years ago. He talked candidly about the role Bernie played in getting his life on track. Good to see he made a successful pivot.

Interesting problem for Uncle Steve-does he renegotiate Pete's contract so he remains a Met as Pete can walk if he doesn't. This year is the what Pete should have done last year in his walk year. Also lost in the comparison to Darryl, Pete has done it in fewer games/at bats.

Thought something was in the works when they moved up his last start for the first time this season to give him 5 days of rest before his debut. If we look at Stearns' comments about giving highly ranked young pitchers a long runway and the extra day of rest, it might be safe to deduce that we will be going with a 6-man rotation the rest of the way. Senga-Peterson-Manaea-McLean-Holmes-Blackburn (once or twice)? Megill probably needs 2 more rehab appearances after yesterday and then he can replace Blackburn or Holmes.

They will be playing 16 games in 16 days in the second half of the month, so its safe to assume they'll do it after the day off on Tuesday. Not sure after that stretch. I am still hoping that Sproat can be up as well. Just DFA Blackburn and Stanek once Megill is ready

The only pitcher I am comfortable with pitching on normal rest right now is Peterson. The rest of them need 5-6 days. We'll probably have to be shuffling long relief from AAA until the September callups. I'm very pleased with how Hagenmen went right after hitters with that lead. He might have some value in games we go down 4-5 runs early to preserve the top bullpen arms while not completely waving the white flag.

Darryl goes to Robkes so does Doc and it seems like every other famous sports person. Darryl is super nice with kids and fans even while he’s eating
