Yeah, I forgot about options. That’s a problem. Don’t want to give up on him. Needs a push though. 6-6 after two bombs. Maybe he comes through here. (Vientos)He has no options, so can't be sent down

Also, Torrens who was so clutch early in the season looks just like Alvarez did right before they sent him down. He can’t buy a hit.If someone told me last October that Vientos would be pinch hit for Travis Jankowski in an extra inning game with two guys on base, I’d think you’re on crack.
I’ll give him credit for going to Brazoban because I think I would’ve personally tried to squeeze another inning out of DiazMendoza stayed with Holmes to long. Carlos seems to have lost his magic touch over the last month.
Just caught up on the highlights of that one. Old friend Wilmer Flores had a nice single in the bottom of the 9th to keep the rally going before they walked it offHoly cow, I just saw the Phil’s lost on an inside the park walkoff homerun.
Our big bats are starting all hit together again, Baty and Mauricio are showing life, we’re getting Senga and Manaea back and we’re tied for first place. Win these last two series before the All-Star break and then continue to get healthy and we’ll be fine.I agree with Harper obviously.
However, this was not the full story tonight. The bottom of the lineup (Mauricio and Baty) were 3-8 with 2 runs scored. The Mauricio HR tied the game and up to that point the offense was sleep walking.
Even Mean Gene is optimistic, I don’t know whether to be excited or scaredOur big bats are starting all hit together again, Baty and Mauricio are showing life, we’re getting Senga and Manaea back and we’re tied for first place. Winker played yesterday.Still hoping that either Winker can provide some pop whenever he returns, we add one reliable bat at the deadline, or 2024 Vientos somehow shows up.
Because while I love our top 4, relying on them to win us every game offensively is shaky ground to stand on. I remember when we knocked out the Phillies last year, a big reason was no one in their lineup beyond the Turner/Schwarber/Harper/Castellanos heart of the order that was even remotely scary, and it allowed our starters to go deeper into games. It was like you could exhale for innings where the middle or bottom of order was due up. Then we got to LA and they had dudes like Edman or Kike Hernandez low in their order who were more than capable of killing us
