Not sure who finds them but little doubt about the impact of Jeremy Hefner.
 
Nice win last night. Holmes giving more than expected. Last 3 games were versus White Sox and Rockies so I will hold my excitement until he goes against a top tier team.
Great to see Ronnie Mauricio have a breakout game, heck of a homer.
Baty looks lost at second base; also, his hitting has been declining providing an opening for Vientos.
Torrens has another critical hit. looking more like the number catcher as Alvarez is over swinging
 
Time to see what is down in Double AA as Rumble Ponies game is on SNY. They are playing Yankee affiliate--oops Rumble Ponies gave up a homer on first pitch.

The pool of major league prospects throughout the Mets farm systems have never been larger. It isn’t just about the top prospects, it is the mid level players who are inexpensive ways of filling out a roster or as sweeteners to make a trade.
 
Have a feeling this guy we signed late - i think his name’s Alonso - has a bright future.
 
If McNeil hits the team is on a different level. He’s a guy that makes contact. Gotta give Stearns a ton of credit so far. I feel they need an ace though but that’s just me.
 
Got the sweep done. That is what we needed. I expected to get back ahead of the Phils, but not this quickly and by this margin!

And huge that Megill/Blackburn could give the pen a day off. We have a day off then 6 in a row coming up.

Yesterday’s game was a more typical afternoon game in Colorado. A good opportunity to fatten some players stats.

This week back home against the Nationals who have some good starters and Tampa who has good overall pitching.
 
Hopefully, they have a plan to play Baty and Mauricio which Mendoza seems to be doing. At some point they need to find out who can help us the most this season. Vientos will return and they need to figure out what that looks like. Great problem to have.

Alvarez had a better day yesterday but we need to see a lot more from him before penciling him into an everyday lineup. His swing and miss is ugly. Luckily they have a very steady option in Torrens.

Assuming temporary that McNeil shares CF w Taylor, Problem (good ?) is u still have 4 kids for 2b & 3 b( Vientos, baty , acuna & Mauricio) . I thought DH might provide some ABs, but Marte has found his stroke. 1 kid will have to go AAA

Jeff McNeil had a great time in Colorado. McNeil is still hitting just .257. Him hitting HRs is great but that’s where I worry he gets HR happy. We need line drive and contact Jeff and not Jeff trying to hit HRs.
