New York Mets 2025 Season

The argument I read last night is that batters are adjusting to Cannings adjustments. Let see what Hefner and co can do with him. Need to keep it together for the next 3 weeks until Senga and Manaea solidify the rotation.
yep. As bama pointed out though, knowing Senga he might take longer to get back

I think you can forget about Senga until late July or early August. The ASG is July 15. That’s roughly 4 weeks away. Then you’ll have the “ramp up” period. Senga is notorious for not pitching unless he’s 100%. You’ll hear about setbacks etc. He won’t be “rushed”.

Bigger issue is Manaea and Montas. Both are pitching but they’ve been terrible in their minor league starts. Gonna be a bumpy few weeks.

Not too worried about Manaea Minor League numbers. He'll be dealing when he gets up here. Montas I am just not seeing a fit right now. I wish he could work with Hefner for a month to change him like he did Manaea.

They won’t win anything in the three years, so in a way keeping him just runs the risk of him getting an arm injury and losing value for trading. Jumping on it now might be the best move for the future of their franchise. But don’t get the sense they are bold enough
That’s the unique thing with the Pirates…as bad as they are now, they look to be much worse the next two years. They are so old. Their second best hitter is a 38 year old McCutchen, their second best pitcher is a 34 year old Heaney, and both are on one year deals. Somehow they don’t even have a top ten game system either which is mind boggling.

An ace is really a luxury item IMO.

Gonna bet ownership is tight and still making some $$
