According to the student emails, it appears the rebranding will be introduced in its completion during the fall. There will be events open to students and other people to celebrate the occasion. New logos are a definite.

The fact you probably wont see basketball stuff until 'maybe' 2014. This could have been done in 90 days provided everyone was on top of things. I've seen it happen in such short time on multiple occasions.
I guess the old "once you go black" adage doesn't apply to us.
While I understand the consternation of many here regarding the snail's pace and lack of initiative, I will not go nuts yet. I am perfectly fine with waiting until next year for the athletics rebranding because I want the new name name (if they choose one), logo, etc. to be a homerun, and most importantly remain a constant for years to come.
Let's remember, the last time the University got together to rebrand, they came up with a series of pathetic mascots and the name "Redstorm." No one wants a repeat of that. Here's to the rebranding being the sports equivalent to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Seriously, how long does it take to design a logo and uniforms. Unbelievable.

I'd also like to know if any alumni were contacted about this rebranding or did they only reach out to our high paying donors and corporate links.

I still don't know why we can't go back to the Redmen?? It's the name that gets consensus from everybody. It is the name the fans and alums want. There's no need to link it to native Americans. I don't know why it should be insulting in any way as long as there is no native mascot? Everybody says its not going to happen and I know it probably won't, but I just don't see the rationale of avoiding it. Just reinvent it without insulting anybody.
