New Facility Requests

I thought this could be a cool thread to start:

When Steve Cohen took over the Mets, he asked Met fans on Twitter, what changes would you make to citi field? The Twitter thread ended up being terrific, filled with great ideas from fans. I believe some things were actually implemented.

This made me think, what would you all like to see in our new facility? We have such a rich history, I hope they emphasize every bit of it.

My request would be some type of large digital leaderboard in the building which will show the all time top 15 winningest programs in the country, that can actively change with each W/L. Kentucky, Kansas, UNC, Duke, UCLA, St. John’s, Indiana. Have every recruit or player on the team understand that that’s the class we are in when they walk in that building and that we are a school with rich history.

more urinals too since they sell beer now
We cannot lose these vintage urinals. High end porcelain.

It has a reputation..

"There are 2 men's and 2 women's rooms, in diagonal corners of the basketball court. My reckoning is that during time out this bank of fixtures gets mighty crowded."

Let's be visionary. The Law School side of campus abuts the Grand Central Parkway, let's build a world class arena sitting atop the GCP.

The Jets were going to build atop the Hudson rail yards.

As long as the Colosseum isn't full of water with sharks in it...(See: Gladiator II, actually don't see it. It sucks, like bad)

Building over rail yards is an easy less controversial thing. The Apartment buildings adjacent to and over NYCT’s 148th St. Yard next to the Harlem River Drive in Manhattan (which was a much bigger yard before the buildings were built), the apartment buildings over Pitkin Yard in Brooklyn, the Hudson Yards Development over the LIRR’s West Side Yard (which is where the Jets proposed stadium was to go) and the proposed continuation of the Atlantic Yards (which included BarclaysArena) project over the LIRR’s Atlantic Yards in Brooklyn (which has already been reconfigured and work already completed in anticipation for the platform that will be needed to be built over the rail yards).

I doubt there are the necessary available “air rights” necessary to build on top of the GC Pkwy, the money to purchase such air rights and build the necessary platform and arena, the State or City DOT (not sure which one “owns” that portion of it and let alone NIMBY and political opposition.

Great out of the box thinking though.

Just rip that foam garbage out of the middle section. Since it adds one seat per row it should cost nothing, maybe add a few dollars in revenue. Some students should be able to do it in an afternoon.
