NCAA Tournament Thread

It was such a weird season that if the committee was ever going to open the mid-major floodgates, this was the time to do it. I wanted Monmouth, St. Mary's, Valpo, Hofstra, and Akron in.

They should have let a few in, then they could have gone back to screwing mid-majors for the next 20 seasons.

anyone have any problems with any teams that got left out ? Was hoping that Monmouth got in

I'm pissed that syracuse got in

NCAA took away the only joy of us being so terrible by ignoring us beating them.

Yikes. The Hall vs Gonzaga at Denver is giving me flashbacks to Lavin's first year when the 'Zags took us out in Denver.

Indeed, and if STJ had won they would have played BYU which is comparable to S Hall having to play Utah who will also have the home court advantage.

That POS coach is on right with Andy Katz. He's shocked that anyone would doubt them getting in.

On FAN this morning, Jon Rothstein reported that the Committee viewed the games when Boeheim was absent as if a team had lost a key player for those games. A caller tried to make the point that the reason for Boeheim's absence should have been taken into account, but Rothstein shot him down by saying that the Infractions Committee was different from the Selection Committee and the Selection Committee could not take that into account.

Of course, Rothstein is just one of many commentators and announcers who do not want to cut off their access to Boeheim!

So now coaches will cheat because they not only are seldom caught but even if ttey are caught they get rewarded on selection Sunday.

This is where I'm having a real problem: on the one hand I hate cuse and want them to get trounced. OTOH, I hope they win a few games because that'll make our win look even better.................nah, I want them to get trounced. :cheer:

I tuned into the end of the LSU/Texas A&M game, and Brad Nessler, Sean Farnham, and Dickie V blasted LSU.

I sense this is about to blow up on Jones, and there could be some transfers after this debacle.

Debacle indeed! LSU scored a total 38 points -- just 13 in the first half. As for Sampson, he saw 22 minutes and finished with 3 points on 1-for-5 shooting.

Final score today: Jamaal Warney 43, LSU 38.

A belated pic of my dad with Jamaal after the game.

This can't make Hopkins feel very good. Cuse fans too since he's their future

God, how I hate Duke! Even though they're down at the half, they're still getting these BS ticky tack foul calls!

Nice to see Butler up at the half. Only by two, but still a good sign.

Iona's given up 26 points in less than 10 minutes. Glad Cluess isn't at STJ. Can't win in the BE by getting retread transfers too good for the conference and then rolling the balls out there.

On the plus side Butler's built a lead. Good for the BE.

Butler about to advance, will likely play Virginia next. Dunham had great game.
