Awful goal tending call against SMU. Horrible way to lose.

Not a good day for Texas hoops.

Damn, there's my bracket buster. I had ISU and SMU playing each other in the Round of 32 with SMU advancing to the Sweet 16 where they lose to Gonzaga. Oh well.

Do not put Xavier in the winners column yet. Ole Miss getting rocking chair jumpers they are missing. Xavirer keeping them in the game

Remind me why VCU is not in the Big East?

I think they don't believe in god.

Neither does Butler!

On January 15, 1850, the Indiana State legislature adopted Ovid Butler's proposed charter for a new Christian university in Indianapolis

Just because you're not Catholic doesn't mean you don't believe in god. ;)

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's availability coming up at 6. Will be tweeting anything that makes Lavin look bad and will provide at least one condescending comment preceded by a #. #sjubb

What he really meant.

They are an interesting university. While their original charter did call for a new Christian University, their School of Religion became independent in 1958. And the University has never been controlled by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ.). Plus, the charter called for a "non-sectarian institution...." So, they are a private institution. But are they a religious institution? I don't know.

I think you can chalk up another Big East win today. Nice going, X.

BE looking good. Complete 180-degree turnaround by Stainbrook from his awful game against Nova. Love the Dee Davis kid.

Agreed, was I wrong in what I thought was going to be a change in momentum. Good start for the BE...

Many of the secular universities in the U.S. were originally Christian schools (Harvard, Duke etc etc.) and all of the older schools had some religious affiliation including Columbia with the exception of UVA which I believe Jefferson started specifically to have no religious affiliation. (Jefferson also re-wrote the Bible to his own standards) There are I believe, two secularized former Catholic colleges in the United States and several that are Catholic in name only and would probably be more honest to just stop calling themselves Catholic.

VCU with your typical dribble the ball aimlessly until there is no time and throw up a crap prayer. OT

VCU w/the ball tied vs Ohio State with 20 seconds left. VCU has 3 timeouts remaining. Shaka Smart doesn't call one.

VCU player Isos and misses the shot.

Microcosm of what's wrong with the sport.

Shaka has no clue how to draw up a play.

Sadly it's a lost art.

VCU may pull it out but some of these teams seem to be coaching themselves.

It's a push because Lavin wouldn't have 3 timeouts available with 20 seconds left.

He would've burned them all after we hit momentum changing shots in our favor ;)

In all seriousness, it made Shaka look like a rookie head coach.

Why did CBS Sports end out an update that says "No. 10 Ohio State avoids an upset and defeats No.7 VCU"? We you are seeded lower than the team you beat, isn't that an upset, just saying.
