Our world today unfortunately. The Joker still one of my all time favorites.
I asked a music trivia question somewhere a while ago about 2 well known rock artists that went to HS and college together, playing in bands together. One wound up playing in the others band as professionals for a short time. Anyway, the pair are Steve Miller and Boz Scaggs, who played for a short while in the Steve Miller Band, not an original member, he filled in as lead guitarist for a short while. Scaggs was originally a solo blues artist prior to changing gears and hitting the jackpot. Our world today unfortunately. The Joker still one of my all time favorites.
I guess he didn't want to contribute to global warming going from Phoenix, Arizona all the way to Tacoma, Philadelphia, Atlanta and L.A. ***Our world today unfortunately. The Joker still one of my all time favorites.
Funny twist that you acknowledge not your joke because a) none of those I posted here are mine, I have a very funny friend who I have heard virtually all of them from andI guess he didn't want to contribute to global warming going from Phoenix, Arizona all the way to Tacoma, Philadelphia, Atlanta and L.A. ***

b) Miller’s lyrics from The Joker “You’re the cutest thing I ever did see, I really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree, Lovey dovey, lovey dovey, lovey dovey all the time” were taken from the song “Lovey Dovey” written by Ahmet Ertegun and Eddie Curtis.
I am pretty sure Miller acknowledged that publicly, it was not a Canned Heat’s Alan Wilson situation where he took complete credit for writing Going Up The Country when all he really did was slightly alter the melody and arrangement and rewrite the lyrics of
“Bull Doze Blues” written and recorded by Henry Thomas 40 years or so prior to Canned Heat’s version. Wilson took a lot of heat supposedly within the music world for not acknowledging he lifted Thomas’ music. The signature panpipe riff of the song is obvious. If you look at the record in the video you see it credits guitar and whistling which evidently is how Thomas did the song live but it was recorded with a panpipe.
What Abracadabra ...reach out and grab ya...... Isn't a well-crafted Lyric? LOLYep, same with Led Zeppelin and other bands who took old blues music and put them on steroids . Probably my favorite sub-genre of rock music to be honest.
For the record Steve Miller is a very accomplished musician but a mediocre song writer.
I would agree, not a big Miller fan.Yep, same with Led Zeppelin and other bands who took old blues music and put them on steroids . Probably my favorite sub-genre of rock music to be honest.

I believe the Yanks-Reds series was 1976..........with both 1977 & 1978 being Yankees-Dodgers.Guarded Led Zeppelin at the Plaza Hotel in NYC during Yankees-Reds WS in 1977. Bunch of crazy mo-fos running around the halls naked and throwing pool table balls out of windows.
Right. Then it was 1976. As Roger Clemens said about Andy Petite I misremembered.I believe the Yanks-Reds series was 1976..........with both 1977 & 1978 being Yankees-Dodgers.
Saw them at the Garden in 1973 . My 16 year old self was never quite the same!Guarded Led Zeppelin at the Plaza Hotel in NYC during Yankees-Reds WS in 1977. Bunch of crazy mo fos running around the halls naked and throwing pool table balls out of windows.
I am in a minority, I am pretty sure, but I think Led Zeppelin is the most overrated band in R&R history, and that Stairway To Heaven is the most overrated song in R&R history. Never liked their music.Guarded Led Zeppelin at the Plaza Hotel in NYC during Yankees-Reds WS in 1977. You forgot the world’s greatest Rock n Roll band BJR - the Stones. My wife is not a fan mainly because of Mick and their sometimes misogynistic lyrics but even she admits their music is very good. And what a body of work, dwarfs most of the other groups mentioned.I am in a minority, I am pretty sure, but I think Led Zeppelin is the most overrated band in R&R history, and that Stairway To Heaven is the most overrated song in R&R history. Cream and Blind Faith, Spencer Davis, Traffic, those are great British Rock bands IMO. The Who, The Moodies, and The Kinks too.
I am with you on all counts.I am in a minority, I am pretty sure, but I think Led Zeppelin is the most overrated band in R&R history, and that Stairway To Heaven is the most overrated song in R&R history. Never liked their music.
