(MSG) Villanova, Sat. Jan. 13, 8p, Fox Bus, 970AM

Sounds right, only if Nova does not play its starters. Nova does not have a true center .So,I think we can not use the excuse that they are a much bigger team. I wish our guys GOOD LUCK they will need it.

Maybe we should move Clark outside and Simon underneath? Simon gets rebounds and can't shoot, Clark can shoot, but doesn't rebound.

Too much family stuff this weekend so I can’t go. If anyone is looking for 4 tixs section 105 row 14, seats 1-4. Please PM me. Thanks.

Any guesses on how many points we will be getting? Has to be 12 or so.

I would go with 17 maybe more.

17 points is not enough. If they play the way they played against Georgetown we lose by 25 or 30

or maybe the 41 they beat us by last March. You have to set a spread somewhere and all I was saying that it will be at least 17. Feel free to take the points.

Xavier was down 19 at the half to Villanova tonight! We will get destroyed

It might be . It might not be a massacre . Nova is back to Number 1. With a depleted team without Lovett, we barely lost to Seton Hall and Creighton on the Road . If all of our Starters are 100 percent , hit the outside shots , show a little resistance on the boards and play tough, the game could be closer than the Spread will be . Or, it could be a replay of last Year’s BE tournament game . Xavier is beatable but, likely not on their home court . The reality against the top teams in the BE is we have to play nearly a perfect game . We have the capability to beat Prov, Creighton , DePaul in rematches . Maybe even Seton Hall and G ‘Town . Also , split with Butler is possible . Our goal at this point should be 6 Wins and win 1 BE tournament game .

Honestly, I can see us being better against teams like this. No question that we will be up for this game, but will Villanova be up for it, or will their players be going through the motions, thinking it's an easy win? Now, of course, they will have too much talent in the end, but I can still see the latter scenario happening (and yes, I know Nova is coming off a 25 point rout of the #10 team in the country, but I'd rather get them coming off that, then coming off a loss).

Mid-level to bad teams will be up for us, sensing a win, and going all-out for it. We could actually get blown away in some of those games, if we are not forcing turnovers.

Forcing turnovers was the only way we had to make up for our terrible rebounding and with LoVett out we no longer have the ability or manpower to accomplish that.

Even going through the motions they will have no problem beating us , especially how well they play together. All five starters plus their sixth man " D " can pump in three pointers. And watch out for their excellent passing and back door plays. Who will guard Brunson, probably Ponds. Good luck with his fakes and even his post moves. Guess they must have a great coach!

If SJU wins six games and a big east tournament game then I'd vote for Mullin coach of the year. Pray for two or three with no sprained ankles for the few big east players left.
