Most "important" craft beers

Great draft beer scene in cape town and they have pumpkin beer

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout and Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), are outstanding stouts.

Best IPAs around this area Other Half in BK, and Finnback in QNS.

Did you try the Johnny Gold?
I had every one on that board that night. :). If anyone gets down to Cape Town the brewery called devils peak brewery is great. A friend down here has a friend who is a brewer and sent us there. I should have taken a photo of their beers but I got a little drunk that night too and forgot in Zambia 1 craft beer called Mosi. Ehhh it's kind of like coors to me but not much other choice

Russian Imperial Stouts are the strongest, darkest and most flavorful of the stout family. Only black and heavy coffee, chocolate and roast flavors. Nothing like a Guinness stout which is like a corona light in comparison. Very rich in style. Btw don't drink em cold. Drink at cool basement temperature.

Syosset beverage has a very good selection. Shoreline beverage as well but I like syosset better. A great beer bar in Huntington is called Sapsuckers. Great place with great selection of beers.

You got me hooked man. I am a big fan of the Imperial Stouts now. Tonight Drakes' Brewing Drakonic. My 22 yo daughter really liked it too which I was a bit surprised. Really dark, thick and rich with a coffee like "crema" on top.

Lagunitas NightTime

I'm not a big fan of IPAs generally but maybe when they've gone out of fashion and are not mandatory to praise as they are now, I will rediscover them. But this as an IPA if a "Black IPA" is the best IPA I've ever had. Definitely one of the best beers I've ever had. The very strong hoppy taste of IPA is balanced with malty chocolatey flavors. Everything about this is good. Poors thick and heady smells great. Tastes great.

Also had a couple of beers from Oregon "Deschutes" Obsidian Stout and Black Butte Porter. Both really nice.

While I was in SoCal I was searching for Russian Imperial (which is my thing now) and found one from "Mission" in San Diego but I just couldn't spend $10 for a single bottle at the supermarket. Must be some good stuff though if people are plopping down $60 for a 6 pack right?

also recently tried "feldschlobchen black lager" pretty weak and disappointing but I did learn something. Schwarz (pronounced "Schwartz") is commonly used to refer to "black beer" But this is also makes me wonder what Mel Brooks was intending with "May the Schwartz be with you..."

Good to hear! Barrel aged imperial stouts are awesome! Good choices too. I have a good sized collection of them. A couple of my buddies and I have an Instagram beer page called: “Beerbastardss” We get quite a good selection there.

Blue Dragon with very good initial ratings!

Was in maryland this weekend and tried beer from one brewery called Easten Shore Brewing in St Michaels. Maybe 30 minutes from my grandmothers house. Good stuff they had a good spa I think called situation critical and a not so pale ale. I already had several Lagunitas Ipa's so it got a little hazy but Nathalie now thinks Lagunitas is delicious so that's a bonus

Tried the Lagunitas Imperial Stout last night. Very good. Probably not my favorite of the ones I've tried so far but definitely very good.

tried the Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout tonight. I really enjoyed this. :p

description from their website:

The same year Benjamin brewed his lovely dark beer, we shipped the first barrels of Guinness to America. To this day, America’s favorite stouts are still brewed at St. James’s Gate. Based on the Guinness brewing logs of 1817, Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout seeks to bring to life the same dark ruby red color and complex flavor of Benjamin’s beer from 200 years ago. Rich and full-bodied with notes of caramel, toffee and sweet chocolate. Smooth-drinking with just the right amount of bitterness. Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout carries on the legacy of 1817 and looks forward to our next 200 years in America.

Had this one while waiting for my takeout food at the new burgerology in huntington. It's very good although I couldn't drink more than one of these. Its like drinking a dessert

IPAs and American Pale Ales are all the rage here in London. I love the taste of IPAs but they give me the worst hangovers to the point where I won't drink them anymore.

maybe drink 5 or 6 instead of 12 :)

went to barrage brewery on Allen Blvd today in Farmingdale with a buddy for an hour. It's in the back of a warehouse. Tiny tasting room and I mean tiny. Beer flights were good but not great. Still if you are in the area it's a good place to kill an hour but I wouldn't spend much more time than that there
