I think bringing Fran back would fit perfectly under the subject heading as we would be:

1. Bringing back a coach who was fired from here for:
A. Verbally abusing players and staff
B. Trying to get the Texas (the job he really wanted) and Arizona State job after two years here.
You can decide what upset Father Harrington more.
2. Was fired after three years at his next job, New Mexico for less than stellar performance on the court.
3. Has not coached in over ten years, spending most of that time if not all as a broadcaster/commentator/analyst (and a very good one).
4. Has a reputation as a good recruiter and poor coach (been there done that).
5. Bringing in a coach who despite his record at Manhattan, the administration there was not unhappy to see him go.

Lavin was doing the Fox Sports1 NCAA brodcast pre and post game in Texas. FWIW he was the onlt one to pick Kentucky. :lol: Unless he catches an early flight I doubt he'll be at a presser today.

Is there confirmation of a press conference? I think someone got confused and saw an old tweet which was actually referring to Jakarr's press conference.

He will be on an early flight to close the deal on the most improved guard of the past season, Phil (East-West) Greene IV. Phil, on the other hand, is intent on being a first round pick in the NBA and wants assurances that he will be the starting point guard ahead of Rasheed Jordan who, according to Jayon1, is still suffering from tonsillitis from shouting out the World Peace rap lyrics in the shower.
As for the wizard being the only one to pick Kentucky, the Godfather himself, the Maven, made a special trip to Arlington to celebrate with his favorite coach. Why even Hit (I mean Avon) told anyone who would listen that coach Calipari was going to show the world that the loss to SEC powerhouse South Carolina was just a bump to the next NCAA championship for big blue in the face nation.
As for the news conference, no need since Lav has been on the phone with his #1 assistant Rico (player retention specialist) Hines, who has the green light to release any other malcontent who thinks he is above the team. Now I use the term "team" lightly since in basketball you need 5 players to make a team and if all the St. John's players that wanted to be coached by Rico (I mean Lavin) left, we would not have a team unless you count the walk ons.
As for recruits, bad news continues as the only recruiter on the staff Tony Chili Dog Chiles is awaiting charges of eating while driving in a small upstae NY town. It appears he was pulled over by a former redmen.com mod named Moose who decided to become a NY State trooper in disgust after his avatar was hired and fired by USF in less than 15 minutes, which is all the fame he will ever get, Steve (the faccia Brutta) Masiello.
The news gets worse as the judge hearing the Tony Chiles case is none other than OTIS!!!! Judge OTIS will have his hands full however since Tony will be defended by Dr. Fun, aka FOAD, who will use words that OTIS has never heard of and will have to rely on Hit (I mean Avon) to explain to him. The trial, set for this afternoon, is expected to draw a number of former Lavin fans who now take every opportunity to bring him and his staff down. The include the enforcer of redmen rules, the Lawman, G (G string fan) man, foreign fans redmennorth, Gonzalo, and Mr. Bayern Munich himself whose name I forget since he has never made a basketball related post in 10 years.
The good news is that coach Whitesell has been holding up the ship trying to impress a red faced AD in case an interim head coach is needed should Lav get the job at Cal where he is still a member of the Mensa club. Coach Whitesell is a fine coach who was once asked during a game when Rico Hines had diarrhea and was in the locked room, should the team play man or zone said to Lav "we play zone?".
