Do you know something you would like to share with the rest of the class?
No I'm just saying it never fails with this place. There is ALWAYS something.
And I'm not saying Dixon is vital and important and this is a huge loss or anything like that. But its a continuous revolving door. Now looking back again I wish Greg Williams had more PT to start the year etc.
Curious if it is "always something with this place" or "always something with 20-year-old elite athletes"?
I haven't pored over the rosters of other schools, but this may be the new reality of college hoops (after you get past the one-and-done schools). We have kids – Clark, Simon, Heron, Keita – who transferred in from good programs, so it's happening everywhere.
Under Matt's supervision, I'd say we've been winning the transfer game. I wish we could go back to the four-year model, but that may be dead and gone.
You might be right. Transferring is an epidemic for sure. Maybe its just when we start seeing positive developments a 'negative' happens. We always seem to take 2 steps forward and 1 back a lot.
Again I quote negative because no matter how you slice it a player is leaving. A short bench got shorter. 6th in mpg gone.
This was inevitable though unfortunately the way we've been recrutiing. I'm sure he saw the writing on the wall. He was never going to start here even next year, and has already been recruited over.
Transfers are so common place now you can't even always view them as a negative. Young kids want instant gratification and aren't always willing to take the time to develop
The only thing I'll say is the timing of this is a little strange, considering he already transferred once.
