Mike Rice Hot Water

Lame duck.

They'll get annihilated in the B1G. Best advice for Myles Mack is to transfer now because next year they'll be in the basement and the coach who recruited him will be fired. Do your transfer year away from that upcoming misery.

If it wasn't grounds for a dismissal months ago when it happened, why is it grounds for dismissal now?

Would be shocked if Rutgers did not know what was on tape. IMO, further embarrassment will push Board, President hand to move him out. The gay slur, if true, will be catalyst. The power brokers will not want to adversely effect fundraising or cause tumultuous publicity. Why bother keeping him? He is not Bob Knight, who had much more value and clout, and was still moved out.

New evidence.

Ah, thanks! Am at work and only had enough time for a quick look at the article. Will take a closer look when I can.

The gay slur will be the end for him. Let's remember, Rutgers had a highly publicized bullying case where a gay student committed suicide.

I am not the least bit surprised this happened. I always thought Rice was crazy. He could make a person's face fall off if you looked into his eyes.

NJ Sate and Rice are a perfect match in my eyes. While Rice is crazy, Rutgers is delusional if they think they will be anything more than an also ran status conference member. Being a state university, they had the benefit of tax dollars. Yet they couldn't do anything worthwhile in the Big East while holding a very sizeable financial advantage over the majority of the schools. Now they are playing against schools with just as much tax dollars -- if not more. Hope they enjoy never sniffing the NCAA's or a bowl game again.

I wonder what unstable individual Rutgers will hire next.

Saw some of the footage.

Rice has to be gone. Too much heat. Didn't look good at all.

He kicked a player.

Good riddance Rutgers. Enjoy your new conference.

Wow, this coach is done at this level for the foreseeable future. None of these tactics are considered acceptable or appropriate in today's athletics.

Fun correctly called this from day 1.
Said this guy was a walking time bomb.

Before Jack Kresse coached at st johns he was a gym coach at Christ the King- I was never in his class but I recall those who were saying he would throw basketballs at them. Kresse made his mark in Charleston (I always liked him) and st johns tried to lure him back some yrs ago to coach here so throwing basketballs is not what it is all about. It is about winning and bringing money into the school. If you do, in my opinion, you can throw basketballs, yell, curse and maybe throw out a slur here and there and get a slap on the wrist. If you lose, you get fired.

here is the video:

He's a nut. I know that some people will call Murdoch a snitch, but this is just too insane to turn the other eye on. The AD will be in trouble as well. This is not tolerable at the college level.

I said this before the season, Rice is crazy (I didn't know this crazy). I knew this would be his last season at RU. Either he was going to get the team to play well and he'd take a bigger job, or his antics would get him fired. He actually looks more insane than Bobby Gonzalez.

Danny Hurley is currently sane, but that job may make him crazy.
No joke, but as a player Danny took the pressure of playing way to hard. The experience was no fun for him at all, and that really is sad that he missed out on what was supposed to be a ton of fun. He has done a great job by getting back into whats a hotter fire and handling it so well. I never knew what went on between Gary Waters and the university. Why didn't that work out?

Not in 2013

Definitely pretty bad. Had a soccer coach similar to that in college, but at least he would apologize after his tirades. He has to be gone and any recruits that were coming their way too.
