Midnight Madness

Shurg. I don't know how official these rankings are. Personally, given the choice between the Syracuse Legends game and a free Nathan's hot dog, I choose Gerry Mcnamara.
 
 Thought Chris Mccullough was going to be there? They have Quinnipac next to hs name? Thought he was a heavy lean towards SJU ?

Do you honestly think Quinnipiac is gonna land McCullough? Seriously.... I have no problem with McCullough changing his mind and heading to Quinnipiac's Midnight Madness. I would've wondered had he changed his mind and went to Rutgers', UConn's or Arizona's Midnight Madness, instead of ours.

This is actually a non-issue.

Michigan State is another school bringing back their unemployed NBA players. Too bad if we did it right now I think it would be Ron Artest and a bunch of Lavin UCLA guys like Baron, Earl, Kapono, Ray Young, Kris Johnson etc....

I was thinking the same thing Mello, Pearl, Warrick, DC all playing in a game at the Dome has to be ranked higher than what STJ has going on.
 
I wish I could be their, but I go to another not as good school and will have settle for their midnight madness. I'm thinking its time for me to put in my transfer papers for next year :)  
 
Surprised there not more talk here about one of the most potentially important recruits in attendance which will be Chris Obekpa. This is a 2012 kid who is the 4/5 who fits our style supremely. He's a gazelle and one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the country. He'd be a fantastic replacement for Jakarr and a great fit as our last 2012 ship next to Wood and Gathers. He'd potentially give us a 4-man rotation of Pelle, GG, Gathers and himself for 2012. How many teams will be able to get a shot off or a rebound against this 4 athletes?? I personally can't envision a better pickup for us at the current time than Obekpa. The fact that he is attending SJU's midnight madness is a VERY good sign at this point in the recruitment process, being only a month prior to fall signing period. I hope Lavin locks this kid up!

Visits are one thing, but he's at our midnight madness event. Uconn has a ton if kids at their MM event. Uconn pretty loaded at PF/C with Oriakhi, Daniels, Roscoe, Bradley, Drummond, Olander etc. I don't think Obekpa is a Uconn priority at all to tell the truth. Id be more worried about Providence at this point. We have actually been on the kid for quite a while before some of these schools. We did make KA a priority, but now I think Obekpa is the focus. He should be. He plays ball on LI and it would be a real coup to land this kid who is a top 100 defensive and rebounding force. He's a perfect fit at this point. Gathers/Obekpa at the PF and Pelle/GG at center. I love that group of players.
 
 He's got to be a priority, because it doesn't look like we are recruiting any other big guys. Unless Lavin is recruiting in the JUCO ranks, we really need this kid. The few PF/C that we have been involved with haven't been mentioning us much lately. I'm really happy he's coming ot MM because that is a very good sign. I may be wrong but I think he already visited the campus. Not sure if it was an official or not.

I just saw this photo on twitter. I think it's great that there is already a pretty nice size line already in this crappy weather.. Off topic... i guess Memphis will have a change in plans for the Madness tonight as i just read Rick Ross ( who is performing) just had a seizure.

They can officially practice starting today @ 5:00.
ESPN will kick off @ 7:30.
