Wish I could be there, but I'll be out of town (it's my college's homecoming weekend - I'm probably one of the few posters on here who is not a St. John's alum).

Looking forward to hearing the reports, however.

Actually knowing a lot of ppl on this and other boards you would be quite surprised how many are grads of other schools.

Recruit scoop reporting that both Dayshon Smith and Jason Boswell will be attending St. John's midnight madness instead of Rutgers this weekend. Dayshon is a 5'9 combo who attended the now closed Rice hs and Boswell is a 6'6 small forward who was at St Patricks i believe at one time. Both are native New yorkers.

St. John’s: The Red Storm will have a host of recruits on campus, including currently-ineligible prospects Amir Garrett and Norvel Pelle. Chris McCullough, one of the top 2014 recruits, is expected to be in attendance, while Jermaine Lawrence (2013), Jason Boswell (2013), Dayshon Smith (2013) and Chris Obekpa (2012) could be there as well. Commits Ricardo Gathers and Darrick Wood are also visiting.

Getting Obekpa there would be huge. Right now Sampson has all the leverage over us, so it would be great to have a big man have us on his eventual short list.

It sounds like Obekpa is still in the fold for us. It's best to not get caught with your pants down, in case Sampson doesn't re-sign with the Johnnies. I guess we'll get definitive word on Obekpa being at Midnight Madness by tomorrow.

"St. John's is a big time school and I think it's going to have a good Midnight Madness," explained Smith. "That's my opinion and that's why I'm headed up there."

Even though St. Johns hasn't recruited him yet, the guard is still very interested in the Queens-based school.

"I'm sort of familiar with the staff there and I hope I get to talk to them again [Tony Chiles, Steve Lavin] because it's been a while."

Very interesting ... and very pleasantly surprising!

We're going to have a houseful of good recruits, and commits our new team and I am sure more surprises....This is going to be fabulous.....

Great to see the national pub we are getting on espn and number 2 in the nation, that is just spectacular.

Yeah, I'm not an alum either. Just a fan since the days of Mullin and Berry.

Sounds like it will be rocking on Friday night!

Thought Chris Mccullough was going to be there? They have Quinnipac next to hs name? Thought he was a heavy lean towards SJU ?
