Mets wanted sju to buy 5000 tickets

My Yankees Mount Rushmore-
Ruth
Gehrig
Jeter
Rivera

Mets-
Seaver
Gooden
McGraw
Piazza

Wow Knight!
Great job
However,
There's room enough on that mountain for Joe D and the Mick, no? Yes?

Love the Mick. My idol growing up. Too many great Yankees. I would contribute to the extension to Yankee Mt. Rushmore. Still love the Mick!

For me, the Yankees Mount Rushmore would be

Ruth
Gehrig
DiMaggio
Mantle

For the Mets:

Seaver
Koosman
Hernandez
not sure about the 4th... all your choices are good.

Someone mentioned this to Francessa on the FAN today and Francessa thought it was untrue and would be tasteless if so, by the Mets. It would be like St. John's paying for the privilege which is outrageous.
He also stated 5000 tickets would be a lot of cash.

Agree general; out w/ Jeter & Mariano in with Mickey & Joe D. I am a Mets fan but if you looking at top 4 all time Yankees you can't leave Mickey & Joe off, sorry

The Mick on Letterman.

For those planning to see Mullin at the Stadium on Wednesday (I don't have tickets yet, but will probably go), it's supposed to be a nice day, with temps in the mid to upper 80s (but that can change, of course).

Also, as of now, Pineda is on track to pitch for the Yankees that day. You never know with Girardi, though.

As a Mets fan, nonsense like this from the Wilpons is an everyday occurrence. Only they can ruin a feel good story and turn it into a p.r. mess. SJU and the Mets always had a good relationship.

There would have been a number of SJU alums in attendance that day anyway (like myself, and I would have taken my kids).

I swear, if Moses wanted to throw out the first pitch, the Mets would complain about possible water damages caused during his windup, and demand a security deposit covering all plumbing costs.

Remember how well the Wilpons treated us for your birthday? And they like me!

Par for the course with them.
