Message from Lavin

left us in better shape than when he started

Norm inherited a 6 win team and left an NCAA tournament team. Lavin inherited an NCAA tournament team and left a 6 win team.

same scenario at UCLA - he inherited a team that went to a regional final in his first year and when it all ended he led UCLA to their first losing season in 55 years before they booted him out. You cant make this stuff up!

Fact is that norm gave him an NIT team that could not win in the BE. He turned on the fan base by going something like 13-5 during one of the toughest years in the BE with the same team. But let's make believe norm did that.

Of course not because Norm was a horrible coach. We are talking personnel here and unless you are a big Felix, Amar, and Stewart fan you would have to agree.

Fact is Dunlap took norm's group and gave them a system to turn their fortunes around. That plus the fact that they were seniors made for a great season.

Dunlap gets far too much credit for year one, and not enough blame for year 2.

I have no problem with his letter. Seemed like he didnt have any ill feelings towards st johns and actually wished them well.

I can't wait to see how long it takes all the naysayers to turn on Mullin... anyone laying odds?

Perhaps a poll on who will be the first?

Can't enjoy this? It may work out, no?

Do we really have a shot at Pinckney as an assistant? Isn't this a step back from being an asst in the NBA.

Is this message really from Steve Lavin......or someone's fanciful meanderings.

Does anyone know if SL ever acknowledged reading redmen.com?

That is great news. An NBA big man with an NCAA championship ring. Hello Chieck

I won't lay any odds, but believe me it's coming. It's a NY thing, every guy here is smarter than the next.

I'm convinced it'll work out if Mullin comes. If he decides not to, the fan base will turn 180 degrees against him. From a personal standpoint, he has two kids in high school out there...plus he's planted his roots there for years. It's not an easy decision for him to make.

It's a message from Lavin. I made the mistake for removing the beginning of the message where he does thank for support. So the some of you guys saying it's typical Lavin because there is no thank you are wrong. I take the blame for not putting that in but figured that message was a personal message.

And your question regarding reading Redmen-No he does not

Mullin & Dan Hurley

Many of us got the same message. Let's not make this an episode of "Homeland" for goodness sake.

I would challenge you on that many of "you guys" got this massage.
And the xxxx was more of a joke that you obviously didn't get.
