Memphis to the Big East

I am old enough to remember when the old Memphis State was coached by Dana Kirk, and he quipped that his school would add some southern flavoring to the mix and was the only non-Catholic team there at the '85 Final Four.

Memphis with Calipari would have been better than this current team.

My head is spinning from all of these new BE football and all sports combinations.

Is the Big East the only BCS conference with a split with some teams being in it for Football only and some for all sports? We even have it the other way, ND in for all sports and not football!!!

This Football-only vs. all sports thing seem like a half-baked idea to me.

Blogger "fFrank the Tank" is reporting that Louisville may be bolting the Big East to join the Big 12.

I have followed Fran the Tank for some time and have found his to be pretty informative ( although not always accurate) . He is an attorney in Chicago.

We'll see. Thats become an assumption since we took Memphis. I don't know if it's factual. Pitino doesn't think so. I don't doubt anything anymore. Hope they stay in the big east.

I don't think Louisville is going anywhere for a few reasons. If the Big 12 wanted them they would have taken them already when all this movement was taking place, I also believe that since all this realigment has taken place the big east schools that are left agreed to up the exit fee to insure that everyone stays and is committed, plus Louisville will have a chance every year to win the Big East in football while they'll have no chance in the Big 12 and the Big East is better basketball conference. Just my opinion. What does everyone else think?

Ive been saying it since the beginning adding Memphis, Temple, and Xavier will keep the Big East basketball conference at the top.

I would hate to see Louisville leave the BE. They would have left for the big 12 if invited but WV was invited instead. The BE is more stable now, but in college athletics these days MONEY TALKS.
