...... I'm curious to see how Dunn is used next season. I think he will start and play over 20 minutes.
_________

Rasheem Dunn is a warrior. He is focused.

Absent injury Rasheed will be a major part of CMA's rotation.
He's not a PG. Best used as a combo/SG off the bench who can give you instant offense. Ride him when he's hot. Fewer min when he's not. Best attribute is ability to breakdown defenses, which is something we sorely need. I just wouldn't count on him taking a leap. He was the same player he's always been and that's probably what he will be going forward.
Dunn may be a warrior. He may be motivated. he may be a hard worker, and he may be a great kid. What he is not is an efficient and effective basketball player.
We have never had the opportunity of seeing Dunn use his skills and explosive speed in a game where a true point guard is forcing gaps in an opponent's defense. Efficiency and effectiveness can be situational.

Correct. I see Dunn competing with Cole and williams for playing time next year. They will all get minutes, but Dunn's lack of outside shooting could leave him as the odd man out. If posh or mcgriff arent ready, he could spend some minutes at pg too like he did this year.

If Cole is legit and posh/mcgriff can handle the pg duties, I do not see dunn getting as much pt as he did last year.

He is a beast on d though.

If we shoot the ball efficiently, Dunn will average 6 assists. Proir to getting sick at the end of the season, his floor game had dramatically improved throughout the season. And guys were finally hitting shots. An off-season to get better and work on his shot, Dunn will be very hard to take off the court. He’s capable of doing it all.

And it’s very rare for CMA to start freshmen or new incoming player (unless you’re a guy like Bobby Portis). I look for him to lean on experience to start the year out. New guys have to adjust to this level of basketball. Different than high school or juco ball.

Dunn will be helped tremendously by guys like Posh and Cole who can penetrate to the hoop extremely well. Both guys offer something we don’t have. In addition posh can dish the rock and Cole is a very good shooter. It should allow Dunn to open up his game a bit and let it come to him. Kid is a warrior and will be big for us next year. If we manage to keep LJ around and grab a big guy, look out.

Adding a guy with Cole's shooting ability will help tremendously. That added to the improved 3 point shooting Champ, the Duke, and Williams Jr. showed at the end of the season is an encouraging sign that we will take another step forward in the Win/Loss % column next year.

I really don't care who plays. What CMA showed is that the players who are playing the best are his best players. No way Earlington sees daylight with most coaches, but CMA gave him a shot, and then a shot of confidence by giving him more time as he contributed. Same with Caraher but to some extent even more a testimony to CMA because Caraher gained more minutes late as it was evident that he was doing all the little things, like going after loose balls, battling under the boards, boxing out, in addition to knocking down shots. Steere on the other hand.
Roberts had a shot, a great shot, but couldn't produce. Everyone gets a chance, but only those deserved will play in the end.
