Maryville Saints - Exhibition matchup

Our upperclassmen really lackadaisical.. Keita and Figueroa leading the charge by far. I know our uooerclassmen not worried about this, but now is time to get in game tempo. Two different speeds by guys... let’s go and smooth it out second half. Ponds could have 24 this half alone if he picked it up..

Figgy is exciting to watch.

Plays good D. Trimble playing good D too.

Keita is more than I expected.

Everyone else...not so much.

Dixon is tiny.
So my review of the team after 30 seconds (okay a few minutes). I like the speed, I like Figgy, I still don't like the half court offense, the D looks active and athletic yet for some reason ineffective. Run and run and run some more I say. Meaningless drivel of course until they setlle in, just posted for my own amusement.
. Agree... we have the horses but we are just grazing...

Gotta make some shots. Literally everyone was ice cold that half.

Pretty lack luster first half LJ only guy really doing anything he looks great and Keita has been very active but everybody else is in slow motion hopefully they take it serious in second half and blow this team out like they should be.

So the new guys are performing well, while the old ones aren't. Considering we've already seen the old guys playing well for 1-2 years, I much rather that than the reverse. Things will even out.

St. John's goes into the half up 30-26. L.J. Figueroa is the Red Storm's leading scoring with 10 points off of 5-6 from the field.

Figueroa also plays defense, is really long and great touch around the rim. He’s actually passing too much on offense. He could have 20 by now just blowing past his man in transition. He is gonna be a monster... all business...

All we need is a jockey

What would be the score right now if Rice were AC?

(Kidding... sort of ;))

May be right... a “players coach” might be fine if we are the GS Warriors, but these are kids and our organization is really sloppy... Ponds is invisible right now, and I know that will change but...guys like Coach K don’t let their players start seasons like they just got out of bed...

PS... everybody should play like Figueroa... he doesn’t know it’s an exhibition...

Bit sloppy but the potential is evident.LJ looks like a very promising player. Once the rotation gets set this team will produce.Looking forward to this season!

Seems like Spectrum doesn't support ESPN3 so watching via reports on redmen.com. Thankfully, this is only game I have to worry about ESPN3. Sounds like vets are underwhelming and Figgy & Keita are impressive so far?

The one white kid on Maryville hitting shots from near mid-court. Our guys still not buying in enough to switching and defending... yes he can make them from out there...
