Markus Howard just went down real hard...crunched his back or hop....needed assistance to get off court. Out for 2nd half...

Will see if he's done for Wed or longer
Looked like a hip pointer injury, he could be out Wednesday if true.

Looks like we might catch a break and get to face them without the conference's leading scorer Howard. Injury looked pretty serious, scary moment. However, this game won't be easy either way. They came back and beat Creighton without him on the road. Plus, they're clinging to NCAA hopes. They will need this game badly if they want to maintain that hope.

They are clinging to NIT hopes as are we.;)
Why does Rowsey never get called for an offensive foul when he clearly jumps into the defender?
He learned from watching tapes of Mullin back in the day.;)

Things you didn't think you'd tweet in January: The Big East team with the longest current winning streak is St. John's (four). #SJUBB

Don’t know if this has been covered - I would think it has been - but Marquette’s Markus Howard likely out with an injury suffered in their last game - this would be a BIG loss for he is the team’s overall best player and averages 20+ points
He went for 20/6 against us in Queens
Of course we still need to “do it on the road”
Let’s go SJU!

NM I see Howard’s injury has been thoroughly covered
Nice to get a W here!

Rothstein has always been a supporter of the Big East, which is smart because we are by far the best conference in basketball. Howard being doubtful will be a positive for us as will a week of rest. Call me crazy but I like us. And I especially like us +4.5!

Don't worry about the game line. We got this.
I won't be watching, we'll go 5-0 without me watching.

I want to watch, but I won't jinx them.

Getting caught up in the improved play and watching the team I was hoping for at the start the season, I got to thinking about The Yankees of the mid-'90s.

Remembering a battle cry
Mariano Duncan in Summer 1996-

As Duncan tells it, he and Jeter were working out on the field before a game in the middle of the season.

Duncan asked Jeter whether he was ready to play that day, but it didn’t come out as intended, because English is Duncan’s second language.

“We play today?” asked Duncan.
“We win today,” Jeter replied.
“Das it,” said Duncan.

The slogan for a championship team was born. Duncan had t-shirts made and the Yankees wore them around the clubhouse. Soon fans were bringing banners to the ballpark and hanging them from the facing of the upper deck.

“We play today, we win today, das it.”
Go Johnnies!

That’s me too. I’ve not watched and constantly check scores via my cell through the 4-game win streak. I’m not jinxing this.
Let’s go Johnnies.

And I haven't been posting during games so I'll won't be posting either.

The two things I been doing is: Listen to it on the radio and watching the box score on espn.

SWEEP MARQUETTE

Staff has been working hard to prepare the team to focus on one game at a time - the game in front of them. The 11 losses dont matter, the 4 wins dont matter; all that matters is tonight.

Whether a win or lose, playing one game at a time, one half at a time, one possession at a time is a sign of maturity. Box score stats don't matter, last week's win doesn't matter.

Just bring it on every possession. Intensity, purposeful play, patience, play within yourself, and team first. We have been doing it of late and once you taste winning, there is no looking back, no excuses.

Our guys should be ready. No easy game, with or without injuries. If they bring their A game, perhaps a they close out another big road win in their February march.

Nervous about this game. I just hope we don't see a full meltdown of the board if we don't play our best game and win.

Week off + they’re missing leading scorer. I think we’ll make it 5 in a row.

Whats the over under on how many times rowsey gets fouled shooting a 3? Tricky bastard.

Amase "don't touch the money"; "don't count your chickens"...;don't pull a (Knicks) Patrick Ewing....let 'em play it first. Haha just kiddin'.

I'm in that totally wacky group that has stayed away from the T.V. during this hot streak, because I think I jinx them somehow, crazy right. Looking at my phone periodically won't jinx them??

I am not superstitious except when it comes to the Johnnies. I swear if they are ahead by 10, if I turn on the tube, the next thing I know they are tied.

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but wahtev..........
