If this team, and I am talking a lot about LoVett and Ponds, our best players, decide to dig in and committ to keeping the fall in front of them, guarantee you we become a much different team; that is where any good defense starts. Much of the talk before the year began was their lack of size hurting them and by and large that hasn't happened. What has hurt is that they get broken down by virtually everyone and we are constantly scrambling as a result. They have the quicks to stay in front of most everyone but not the commitment. You can steal the ball in high school or AAU, not here. That is not our only problem but a huge one. And yes, we need to upgrade our talent but this team is underachieving IMO. Maybe not in record but certainly in staying competitive game in and game out.

I don't think Mullin has had enough time to recruit a full BE Roster. You can't compete in this League without a couple of 6'10 , 240 lbs guys. Yakwe just isnt big enough or skilled enough and Owens is still not strong enough to play good post defense.

Mullin is out on the recruiting trail plenty. He deserves to be criticized to an extent but not for that.

I haven't seen Mullin/Richmond/St. Jean's name on any recruiting tweets recently. Just Matt A.

Another great defensive stance. It's obvious this staff lacks defensive ability.
Wow! Way to go Mullin starting Ellison. Are you missing something? And to have Alibecovig and Ellison in at the same time blows my mind. Too much playing time for both. What a surprise Ali charged and Ellison threw the ball away. Mullin are you watching? I still can't believe he started Ellison both halves.
Couldn't get stops all game. Maybe someone should have informed you Marquette hits threes.
Owens has extended his distance on jumpers. Not a very good idea.

Yes. Once again, his stat line looks good but I thought he had a poor game. The first half was atrocious.

His Stat line looks good because it was good. He and Lovett were the only two players looking to drive and score.
As I have said in the past, defense is Shamorie Ponds biggest weakness. He is fast enough to defend but dogs it too often.
As all have already mentioned defense was atrocious and the perimeter defense guarding the 3 was non existent.
Poor shooting all around regardless of points by individual players. Can't win any games when only 2 players show up. Hopefully they rebound with a win against Gtown.
Staff better identify some available 5th year players with talent because Alibegovic, Mussini, Ellison and Freudenberg will bring little to the table next year.

our defense hasn't improved from last year when our talent level was much worse so I can't honestly say yes to that. I think our offense will take another step forward but on defense it seems like the kids don't value anything other than blocks and I guess steals

You're right the line is good, because it is good. And, he does play hard an attack the basket. I guess it is just the bonehead plays and missed assist opportunities that drive me mad with this player. I do know we need him.
