Mark Titus and Tate Frazier will be the Announcers for the St Francis game

Just horrible. These guys talk about the Mullin/Ewing era like they actually were alive to experience it. These guys come across as brain dead

Holy shit these guys are awful
I completely disagree.  Now I would not want them calling the Johnnies/Kansas game but I game like this, I think they are great.
I would rather have a booth of Maher Moose and Monte than this. Triple M.. BTW in case you didn't hear the 6000 times they said it, Posh is out tonight.

Their top 5 NYplayers was FUNNY!!

One guy put Michael Jordan and Jimmer Fredette in there.

lol!
_____

Jimmer hails from the storied metropolis of Glens Falls, New York.

Horrible. That list of top 5 nyc. No Mullin, louie, Ewing, Carmelo , Julius irving.  Coach k and jimmer. Blasphemous

The announcers were better than our quality of play.

Hate to break it to you guys, but this is what the young generation finds entertaining. It's all about hot takes, witty lines, outrageous comments. Really has nothing to do with announcing the game. It has to be tailor made for tik tok and social media. Sad that's it's gotten to this point.

Titus wrote a book titled Don’t put me in, Coach. He was a teammate of Greg Oden warming the bench at Ohio State.

I can appreciate hot takes, witty lines and outrageous comments as much as anyone. Not only didn't I hear any of those, I didn't hear anything that remotely resembling knowledge of the game and/or intelligence. If this is what I have to look forward too on SJU broadcasts, I'll just tune out. Let them cater to a younger demographic, we know how well they've done with that  strategy-if they've even had a strategy-over the years.

For 2 reasons, I've been been so thrilled to hear Dickie V call a game in my life!

you guys dont get it.
there was a reason these idiots were used.
it is to make SJU tv games impossible to watch/listen to.
therefore boosting live game attendance.

I'm thrilled to hear Dukie V for the first time in 20 years, solely because of how bad those two were.  Even a cartoon character like Vitale sounds good after that mess.

This may be the first time ever that we agree on something! /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Reason number 3,742 our out-of-conference schedule sucks is that networks scrape up the worst announcers ever to do our games.

Actually thought they were fun to listen to at points.  They acknowledged fans were hating on them and laughing it off.  It was funny that they displayed twitter comments bashing them. The top NYC 5 was a joke and the only reason it wasn't as funny as it should have been is that their lists were similar.

They are not good as game announcers at this point but will get better if they continue.   When/if that happens they will attract a following because they are entertaining.

Let's not forget that Rizzuto would sometimes forget to announce what was happening on the field while engaged in humorous banter in the booth.  This is nothing new in sports broadcasting.

TV play by play is often superfluous because viewers see what is happening.    Color makes the game and that's why Raftery, Al McGuire, and Vitale are/were so popular.  Of course they were better at announcing bit these guys will get better too.

I never heard of these guys and they stunk on ice as traditional “announcers” but did most people not pickup on the sarcasm?

-They led off by saying St. John’s-St. Francis was the game of the day on the night #1 was playing #2.

-They listed Jimmer Ferdette as a NY basketball legend lol

-When we scored our 69th point, one of them said “and the race to 69 has been won by St. John’s”

This was their first time announcing apparently and they weren’t very good. Still crazy how people thought they were actually serious about 90% of what they said.

2 things: When the majority of your audience doesn't realize that you're  trying to be funny, then either you're not being funny, or you don't know your audience. Second, something ceases to be funny at some point after you've repeated it multiple times.
