Love this kid and can't wait to see him play. As far as Owens lets wait till next year to see. He will be a year older and hopefully bigger and stronger. Let them all beat each other up in the off season and Chris will give the minutes to who has earned them. Hopefully a nice problem to have. I wish that we could send all three to big man camp to help them develop.

How do you think Owens fits in next season?

He played very little as a frosh a Tennessee
He will be a work in progress/project next year
The advantage is that he practiced with the team this season
I hope the weight training/conditioning people have worked with him as well
At 6'10" and 185 lbs, I hope they put some good weight and muscle on him
I think he can be an asset down the road

I wasnt big on Owens from the little video I saw but was impressed in the scrimmage. Yes a scrimmage but he was the opposite of those videos. Aggressive, composed, knew the game not just a freak athlete.

He will be a Junior in reality next year. Not a project by that point.

I think Ponds, Ahmed, and RF have us near the top of the BE already. It sounds like Matt thinks we land Maker or Alkins . . . or maybe someone else we aren't aware of.

agreed. think he has something up his short sleeve whether it's one of those 2 or someone else

Hate to be a debbie downer, but it could also just be Matt projecting some confidence to make us more attractive to recruits. Whether he has someone lined up or not its better to go that route, I'm just not sold that his statements are anything more than propaganda. Clearly I hope I'm wrong though...

Most recruiters are cocky by nature & confident. That said, MA knows we have Freudenberg in the bag & probably is confident Slice will land Alkins, his signature recruit. That would be a top 10 level class I would guess. Ponds, Ahmed & those two would be an amazing haul. Add a transfer & you really have to be impressed by staff's work. We'll see how this dream scenario evolves.

Land Freudenberg this week, and it already looks like a fantastic class. The rest of the guys we are after are blue chipper so, that's when things get really interesting.
