I think we have a good shot at taking this one, just a feeling that I have about this game that I didn't about Cuse.

Sure, because we do such a good job at defending the 3 and Louisville never, ever takes those.

Louisville is an awful 3 pt shooting team. Siva is no real threat and Smith is way too streaky. Hancock is probably the guy that would hurt us if you give him open looks. Zone them for 40 minutes

Love the optimism- always good to see on this board. Feel as though we match up better with L'ville than Cuse. Excited to see the Obekpa/Dieng(sp?) match up, two good defensive players with the edge to Lville based on CO limited offense.
Going to have to control SIva and Smith (Molloy kid we missed on)- one of the most dynamic back courts we face all year. Based on how we controlled UConns slew of guards (for a half atleast)- might perform better than initially thought.
Our zone got picked apart by Gtown and Cuse- we need to mix in some man D.

Could not agree more.
That's incredibly helpful. Thanks! Some helpful stats from the conference stats:
Louisville is 2nd in points scored, 5th in 3 point attempts, 5th in 3 point makes, 10th in 3 point percentage, and 8th in shooting percentage overall.
St. Johns is respectively 10th, last, last, second to last, and second-to-last.
Smith is a nightmare to coach who has to keep Pitino up at night. The kid is a blur, can shot the lights out at times and is a fierce defender, but his decision making and shot selection can be horrible. I can't believe this kid actually played and starred for Jack Curran at Molloy because sometimes he looks like he has no basketball sense or fundamentals at all. Then five minutes later, he is making plays on both ends and you are wondering if you are watching the same guy. I though Pitino was going to kill him after he let the clock wind down and throw-up a 35 - 40 footer at the end of the first OT on Saturday against ND.
In that game, he had a chance to win the game at the end of several of the OT periods. Bad decisions and bad shots including blowing a 3 -1 fast when they had the lead, with less than 30 seconds to go in the fourth (?) OT instead of passing it to either of the open wings or bringing it out, trys to take the defender and blows and awkward looking layup was just one example. He shot horribly, but then I look at the boxscore and he had like 20 points and I'm like HOW????
That game was a low scoring brick feast until the last four minutes of the game Grant score 12 points in 40 seconds to send the game to the first overtime. The game was actually tied at 60 a piece at the end of regulation. ND won despite playing most of the OT periods with three starters sitting on the bench because they fouled out.
I really hope that the team that couldn't shoot straight (from the field or the line) agains ND is the one that shows up.
Note, Behanan, was a beast in the game. ND could not stop him. He is very physical with some nice post-up moves.
maybe we get Orlando cleared for this game.

Your first paragraph was excellent.....but it could also apply to one of our players:
Harrison is a nightmare to coach who has to keep Lavin up at night. The kid can shot the lights out at times but his decision making and shot selection can be horrible. ........sometimes he looks like he has no basketball sense or fundamentals at all.
