Leaving the poor shooting aside for a moment, I'm not a fan of the Lavin/Dunlap zone defense as it consistently gives up the easy 3 and has for the last 2 seasons. Lavin's zone leaves the 3 wide open far too much and it's not the fact of having only 7 players.
it's a soft zone and even after a 1/2 season our guys just aren't picking it up, whatever it's suppose to accomplish. Last year's squad didn't get it either, so maybe it needs rethinking/
GG is a terrific competitor playing against bigger, more talented players but,has to know he can't throw up junk inside against shot blockers,, although, even his dunk got blocked.
L'VILLE is a top tier BE team that we're just not ready to compete with this year. DePAUL,USF, PC, Rutgers might be the only games we can compete.
Lastly, LAVIN HAS TO GET A SHOOTER NEXT YEAR and a true PG. ALONG WITH A BIG MAN.
It's a tall order considerring most top 100 kids are already committed.
