Let's go get a Slice!

@Ben_Baskin: reports that Calipari may be pushing Harrison twins towards draft to make room for new recruits is troubling, esp when they may go undrafted
He can easily solve that problem. Release Briscoe from his LOI.

It sounds like if he is pushing kids to NBA, he has personal plans of staying put

Let's also keep the program clean.

Over the past two years, there have been a lot insinuations on this board about Slice delivering brown paper bags with cash, etc. Now, all of a sudden we all love him?

That's just what we say when somebody works for another school and lands recruits the we envy. ...

Exactly. Today on Seton Hall's Rivals forum, for example, someone's response to our being in a position to maybe land a few big commitments to Mullin was (and I quote): "$ $." And there was plenty more of that from other BE teams' fans during Lavin's reign.

I like the title of the SHU thread. SJU to get great recruit. I hope he knows something.

I don't think there is a need to discuss unsubstantiated bags of anything on a board that supports SJU. Slice will help this program, and I want him here. Everything regarding the paper bags is counterproductive, unless it's how to use them to counteract hyperventilating when we get into a close, meaningful game in the tournament.

Question is would Briscoe come here assuming Jordan returns?

Does anyone know how many over the NCAA 13 scholarship limit Kentucky would be next year with the addition of all incoming recruits if no existing players transfer or leave for the NBA?

Thanks

For the life of me I can't understand why calapari decided to run clock once they got a 4 pt lead with about 6 mins left. 3 straight possessions with a fling at the basket as the shot clock expired never looking inside to Towns did them in.

Yup
Should have just kept giving the ball to Towns. They were up 4 not 14. Terrible job by Cal

Playing not the lose rather then to win.

We should be so lucky as to have that dilemma.

If it is true that Cal is pushing the Harrisons to leave to make room for new recruits, it does not sound like he's leaving for the pros.

I don't think Calipari would want to leave for the NBA after taking a hit to his legacy with a loss like that. Not the same as leaving after coaching an undefeated team to his second NCAA title. (Then again, I thought posters calling for Mullin to be our head coach were being unrealistic.)

I understand your thinking, but "taking a hit to your legacy" after winning 38 consecutive games, is a pretty rigid standard. I'd being willing to take that hit to my legacy, if my track record was similar to his, from a W - L perspective. How about you?

Believe me, it's something I'll never need to consider. As for Cal, going 38-0 is no doubt a remarkable achievement. But I think this team is going to remembered just as much for losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four as it will be for its winning streak, and I'm not so sure he'd like his final season at UK to be remembered that way, as opposed to leaving on the high note of a second national title. Bottom line: none of us knows what's going on in Cal's mind, so it's all just speculation.

Kentucky sports radio article on Slice moving to be with Mullin

http://kentuckysportsradio.com/basketball-2/is-it-time-to-say-goodbye-to-slice/

as one of their posters says "even our coaches are one and done"
I knew it wouldnt take me long to read about some fans questioning him leaving UK for a NIT team. Although, I was happy to read the post talking about the rumor of Diallo to SJU.

So if he's coming, then why the stalling? I'm starting to think he's not coming.
Who else is available?

Next week is the late signing period right? If he's still thinking 1 1/2 weeks after he knew, then it's probably better to move along.
