Kudos Posh

Rough night for Posh, 1-7 from the field, but was perfect 4-4 from the line with 8 rebounds and 2 steals. His 7 assists also moves him up to seventh on the all time list, passing Malik Boothe. Way to tough it out Posh.
Do you know when the last time sju had three players with doubles doubles was?

I have never seen a player lose confidence in his ability to get off a shot, or even hit an open shot. Most, if not all players, improve over time.

I’ve definitely seen a fair number of players regress. But Posh’s regression is pronounced. His play has been sub-par this year and he bares some responsibility for our struggles.

No doubt Anderson’s coaching and schemes, to the extent he has any, are awful. They certainly have not done Posh any favors nor has playing with Curbelo. But if Posh had played to the level that many of us expected, I think we would have won at least two or three more games this year.

Well he has reason to lose his confidence otherwise he would be crazy. He never really could shoot but how it effected his overall game is alarming.

When Posh becomes an all-league performer next year and returns his struggling program to lofty heights with deep-run in the tourney, I guarantee all of you will be buying his Georgia Tech jersey.

Not funny. I wish we had a “malocchio” button.

There is no question that Posh is having a very tough year and looks lost out there at times. His numbers are down in almost category from last year, especially shooting and too many turnovers. But I think we need to remember that Posh had two very good years for us, not just one and his numbers as a soph were better in several respects than as a freshman (in particular overall FG%, rebounding and assists) although his defense did fall off some. But he was good enough for two years that he was picked on the preseason first team all Big East by the Big East coaches this year.
I don't know what accounts for the fall from his first two years (could speculate but that would be all it is) but I am not giving up on Posh and absolutely hope he returns for a fourth season. He is one of the most selfless, hard working players I have had the pleasure of watching and I will be rooting for him to have a great year next year, hopefully with us.

Posh has found a way to be in the top 25 amongst BE players in effective field goal % the last 2 seasons. Impressive considering his jumper. Not surprising considering his ‘get it done’ approach

If you just saw his 2fg% and his offensive rebound rate, you’d think he was a 6’8 power forward.

Mase what does his offensive rebound rate look like this year? I’m curious but guessing it really dropped off from last year.

Still ranks well but down a few %’s.

His OReb rate was 8.5% last year and good for 16th in BE.
This year 6.0% and 21st.

Fans disappointment with Posh are based mainly on three things:
1 Recruits are expected to improve and develop each year. Posh was physically developed when he entered SJU and his defensive game was already as good as it is going to be.
2 He doesnt have shooting skills and it seems no matter how hard he works on that part of his game the results aren’t there
3 Bringing in Curbelo and moving Posh to shooting guard has made him a fish out of water. His skills are the exact opposite of what is expected of a shooting guard. Playing with a team lacking in outside shooting skills for his three years here has put added pressure on him to score. If the SJU roster had a few more capable scorers Posh could concentrate more on his defensive game and his offensive liabilities wouldn’t be as noticible.
