Knicks

I’m still rewatching that last defensive stand by the Knicks.

Bridges with the block but it was a TEAM effort here with Mitch picking up on the perimeter forcing Tatum to go left, then helped by OG who seals off any path to the basket. That sets up the bad shot and Bridges sees it right away and reacts perfectly.
As soon as Mitch cut off Tatum and didn't let him get a free run at the rim like the previous possession, I knew we had them. The Celtics look completely shook in a way I just did not expect coming into this series. Their reliance on threes is catching up to them, because it is like their key players forget how to even attack the paint when defended. It is lost on them. Luckily they are missing enough 3s to make that a real problem for them

Before last season the Knicks hadn’t won a playoff series since when exactly? St. John’s hadn’t WON an NCAA Tournament game since when? Baby steps my friend. I have to be overly exuberant while we can. 🙂

The Garden will be off the rails on Saturday. Strangely I think that might help the Celtics a bit.
Won the Atlantic division and a first round playoff series against the Celtics in the 2012-2013 season under Mike Woodson. That was one good year amidst many years of mediocrity.

Wasn’t a blocked shot Tatum was trying to pass the ball to Jaylen Brown so it was a steal by Bridges second game winning ending steal in the first two games of the series.

With all due respect to 1980s and 90s Mike Lupica, this guy is the best NY sportswriter of my generation. It certainly helps that he seems to support the same clown teams I do, but when he writes something, I will always read it (unless it’s behind a paywall, lol).
A few years back I sent him an email (he had written something about the Wilpon Mets) and I was just venting AND asking him to keep the pressure on getting rid of them.

He actually sent me a heartfelt response about how the NY fans deserve better and that he was doing as much as he could with a pen. Since then I have always held him in high regard. He simply could have ignored me and he didn’t. Class act who cares about NY sports.
