Knicks

No one mentioned the play of the game.
Randle jumping sky high for that offensive board on a bum ankle, sealed the game right there. Big props to him.
Another thing you gotta give props to Randle for is he never took a game off when healthy, and started every freaking game until he sprained his ankle vs. miami, and the next game he couldn't play.
Barrett did not do much offensively but had 6 dimes and 4 steals
Hartenstein with 8 pnts and 5 boards in 22min was a +19

Good game overall, now Tuesday's we're playing with house money, already got our road win, win game 2 and we're up 2-0 coming home.
Of course you want to sweep at that point, but if not then we atleast gotta get a split to go up 3-1.

Then GL to the Cavs winning 3 straight. Yeah I know, I'm looking to far ahead. Guess I tend to do that lol.

Just hoping.

Imho, Toppin deserves more minutes. Barrett deserves less minutes. Give me Brunson and Hart all day every day and Grimes probably most underrated Knick.
Thibs is going to do Thibs things. Barrett plays no matter how much he screws up.

Obi on the other hand gets pulled by just thinking of making a play Thibs doesn’t like.

I'm finally off the RJ bandwagon. He is an atrocious outside shooter. Should only be allowed to take shots in the paint.

The outside shooting is strange. He had a complete season shooting 40% from 3 on over 4 attempts. Wildly inconsistent otherwise.

I don’t think he thought he’d be pushed back to the 3rd option with addition of Brunson but now it’s obvious. And Quickly, Grimes and Hart are right there as well.

He’s a got a great reputation as a hard worker. Hopefully thats correct and continues because its tough for me to give up on a guy whos averaged 20 a game twice before he’s even 23.

Thibs continues to evenly split minutes for the PF/C assuming no injuries or foul trouble.

Robinson/Hartenstein 26 and 22
Randle/Obi 34 and 14

Obi just won't get the minutes under Thibs.

Please less RJ and more Hart. If RJ takes a shot outside of the paint, our own team should try and block it.

I could just continue gushing about my man crush on Jalen Brunson but why bother. I think everyone already recognizes how good a player he is. What about a little love for Josh Hart? This dude is relentless. Fearless and relentless is a deadly combination in a good way. Amazing what talent Jay Wright was developing at Villanova. Exactly what I am hoping Pitino can bring back to St. John’s. What he did at ‘Nova is remarkable.

In NBA talk you hear endless chatter of 3 & D guys and the prototypical role players existing of guys who are tall, long & rangy, and can stretch the court by hitting high% of catch and shoot 3s.

Almost none of that is what Josh Hart is, and yet, IMO he is the best role player in the league. An absolute godsend that turned a fun team into a dangerous one. And he is a guy who has immense future value still.

These Knicks are making basketball exciting while it’s warm out and for me that’s a pretty rare feeling.

I was watching the game with my son. We started just watching him to see how he is around the ball especially on rebounds. He’s not a particularly big guy, yet time and time again he positioned himself to be around the rebound and loose ball. That is a skill and he never stops moving. Other guys sort of “drift”. Not Hart. Great move by the Knicks.

you are right he is so efficient in his stats but just as much so his movement on the court

NBA fans are surprised Josh hart is making all these big plays.

St. John’s fans are like yea we saw this dude beat our ass for several seasons it’s no shock to any of us 😂

Very ugly but it only counts for one loss and
we got the split we needed. Cavs came out with a completely different mindset on defense and Knicks looked really flustered. Thibs will be running some tough practices the next few days lol.
