This is a really special episode for me probably my favorite. I’ve done in three years. Phil Greene and Amir Garrett together talking about stories from 2011 and 2012…memorable games, the fights, the recruiting class, the adversity of only playing six or seven guys and so much more… We go into their lives after basketball individually and all the lessons they have learned since… From Phil‘s advice to kids exploring overseas play… To Amir‘s fight with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the fallout afterwards. I had a GREAT day hanging with everyone at SJU Athletic Department today. I'm up on Long Island for a few days and reconnected with my former Asst AT, who replaced me working with basketball...our team is in GREAT hands with Jill providing the best medical care! Met our strength coach, the women's long time strength coach, Joey T, Matty A, John Diffley, Mike Barry, Julie and Rosie in the athletic office, all my guys in compliance and academic support. Did not get to see Fr Rock or Ed Kull as both were in all day meetings. Practice was closed today so I didn't get to watch, but I did get the opportunity to meet most of the players! Even Dylan Wusu was there working out and we reconnected.
At the end of my time the equipment manager gave my son Kyle lots of Nike gear! Fun time being back with "the family"
