Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread


For me, the 2000 season is like peeling an onion.

No matter how many times I look at it, I come to the same conclusion that this was perfect example of the NCAA putting a target the team’s back.

They were “rewarded” for winning the BE tournament with a horrific draw bracket. As a two seed in the west, they were basically playing a road game against a very well coached and talented N. Arizona.

Then they had under-seeded Gonzaga, which was one of the worst matchups for SJU, and the rest is history.

The NCAA did not like Jarvis calling them out for investigating Barkley and especially after using the term “rape” (which was pure stupidity and hubris on Jarvis’ part, since he knew better than to use that word to compare the two).

Maybe I love conspiracies too much. But I am convinced the NCAA was not at all upset watching SJU get knocked out.

Now who wants to discuss the JFK assassination and the lone gunman theory?
