Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

Thought Shelton was going to be a stud here, not sure he was used correctly;

He had a good career but he was one of those guys who always seemed to play a little scared like Mike Moses or Chucky Sproling.

You saw flashes of incredible talent, but I always felt like he was holding back for fear of making a mistake.

He also was not natural power player and I wonder if he should have been developed as a wing, ran court like gazelle

Wusu will do well at the Hall and wish him luck. I spoke to a Seton Hall friend today and he told me the following is being discussed on their boards:

1. The reason the Hall did not land Posh is because Wusu won't play with him/dislikes him (seems crazy, and backpedaling because the Hall has pursued Posh twice and not landed him either time).

2. Posh was told by Pitino he could come back to the team (this is at the beginning) if Posh did something the following day. Posh didn't show. Pitino said bye-bye.

Disclaimer - not saying any of this is true, nor do I have any "inside" source. Just telling you what my Hall guy conveyed to me and is being discussed on their boards.

Meanwhile, the Hall lost two more kids to the portal today, including Tae Davis who is a really intriguing young forward prospect.

Hardy,

I hard the same thing about Posh and Wusu not getting along and thought, "wow that sounds nuts". I also heard that the Posh visit to the Hall did not go well at all. Again, this is from the guy who told me as soon as we got RP that Posh and Wusu to SHU was a done deal, so I'm starting to think he "insider knowledge" is actually just "stories too get me riled up".

Who knows, good thing there's a rumor mill or else what would we do in the off season.

Shelton had a very good freshman year. That summer, Shelton was sent on the NIT ALL Star trip to Europe. While there, he got poked in his right eye and didn’t play much. Upon returning he was taken the next day to the SJU retinal specialist by the team trainer. Jones was diagnosed with a badly torn and detached retina. Surgery was performed and Shelton was able to resume his career wearing protective goggles which he continued to wear in the NBA. See the pix of Jones above and you can still see a difference in his right eye vs left.

I believe Shelton suffered the detached retina after his junior season. Hence he wore the goggles his entire senior season.
