Keeping Up With Old Friends Thread

There was a moment or two early in their freshman season when I thought the backcourt of Omar Cook and Willie Shaw was going to be one of the greatest in SJU history.

Then Omar leaves, Willie's game falls off a cliff and the program is in shambles for years to come.

I love being a St. John's fan!
If Cook did not leave, I wonder how (or if) a Cook-Hatten backcourt would work.

While they were both PGs, they were also superbly talented. Hatten may have been the only player to catch and know what to do with some of Cook’s passes that were way above the level of most college players.

It would have worked very well. Marcus was not a point guard. He played that position because there were no other options. Omar was a pass first point guard who made everyone around him better. Marcus, Glover, Willie Shaw, Kyle Cuffe, and Eric King all would have thrived playing with Omar. What could have been?

Anyone know what happened to the poster Sherman, Sheridan and Grant? A bunch of us got to meet him and took a picture with him in Section 114 last season. I believe at the UCONN game. Super nice guy. Hasn't posted this season
Just did a search and looks like he hasn't logged in since November. Sadly, I know he had mentioned some health challenges in the past. I had recently been wondering about some other posts who haven't been around this season, I may have to revive that thread from last year about missing posters.

Sadly, this stuff happens. Jack in Virginia is another guy who comes to mind. SSG always a positive force on here and I believe lived in Sag Harbor.

Haven't seen Wolfie either.

I was thinking about him the other day as I hadn’t seen a post from him in quite some time. I know that he had cut back on posting before and believe he might have been going through some challenges.

I hope all is well.

Nice work by you. Met him at a game last year. I think he may have even taken a picture with us. Very nice guy.

Hope he is well with him.

Found the pic. Hope everything ok with him. He was a lot younger looking than what I pictured in my mind. Really nice guy like you said
