$308K payday for KB yesterday
Oops. Didn't realize that Dustin Johnson was still on that list so right now Zach is automatic. Doesn't really change my opinion though. But it does make it possible for Phil and Keegan to jump Zach and an injured Duffner with good showings at Valhalla.
Re Tiger, his damage appears to be done. The years of PED usage seems to have taken its toll.

I think KB is playing well enough of late to get a Ryder Cup spot. That is, unless he collapses at the PGA.
He's trending well at 11th place right now but, needs a top 10 finish IMHO to justify a spot.Still Watson might make him a Capt's pick.
I would take him over STRICKER OR SNEDECKER right now.. neither of whom have had good years.

Stricker is in semi retirement but still competitive at most big events, besides last week. You want his leadership, character and putting. Snedeker hasn't played great, you're correct. I've always favored his grittiness and golf smarts. I imagine most would favor Keegan though, even off this board.
And to add FWIW I would take Keegan over a few guys who at this point are automatic, Jimmie Walker, Patrick Reed and the injured Duffner. Just a number of top talents haven't played enough or well enough to get on the top of this list this year. Wonder how much NBC is offering Tom Watson to name Tiger a Captain's Pick. They need him to drive ratings. Pretty sure they didn't see this coming.

KB finished +4 and won't make cut at PGA. Probably ends his chances for RYDER CUP this year. Had double bogey on a PAR 5 on the 7th hole , when birdie would have gotten him to + 1 and projected cut. I don't think it helped him playing with his buddy, Dufner, who had to withdraw and Y.E.Yang who also missed cut. Sometimes when your playing partners are playing lousy, you play lousy too. That's Golf ..

I hope so too...Johnson and Dufner being injured helps Keegan.. Woods will not play Ryder Cup and probably should pack it in for rest of season.
Also, Watson naming Stricker co-captain indicates he wasn't really thinking of him as a Captain's pick and he's injured too. Of course he's also top 10 this week as well but I think he's a long shot, especially if his buddy Tiger's not playing. Too much working against him, including the wrath of Moose.

I think only Kuchar has any chance to play. My hotel doesn't have golf channel so I don't know the status of Kuchar. If he's in I see three captain picks as Mahan, Snedeker and Keegan. Most qualified by points but not on the list Ryan Moore whom I've always liked. Most qualified but not likely to make it Bill Haas and Steve Stricker. Be interesting to see. Watson doesn't have to make his selections until Sept 2 so the Fedex Cup play will have a lot to say about it no doubt.

Still hope Keegan makes Ryder Cup team but, he's not a lock, even for Captain's picks..Not making the PGA cut hurts him as a good showing would have guaranteed him his spot.
I'm sure he;s disappointed he didn't play better as the other young guns,i.e Fowler, Rory, Day,etc all had their prime time moments.
Seeing Keegan in the thick of things Sunday would have added to a what was a Super Event with drama and great golf..
He should work with Phil over the off season to become more consistent, in his driving, putting and short game around the greens.
Really bad double bogeys did him in the last 2 weeks at the Bridgestone , where he fell out of contention and this week with the double , where a birdie or eagle would have put him in good shape.
GOLF is truly a merciless game. Rickie Fowler's 3 putt finish in the dark cost him $500k and another runner up finish.

My only question about Kuch was his WD with the back but he seems to be fine. Mahan wrapped up a captain's pick with his play the last two weekends combined with his history. I would think now there's two spots left for Keegan and Snedeker. But CBS keeps trying to make a case for Brendan Todd and Ryan Moore was the next out and he's had 4 top 12's in his last five starts this summer including third best American at the British. I think it's got to be Keegan and Snedeker.

I think KB is back on the bubble as his play the last few weeks has not been enough to garner a certain Captain's pick.. I hope I'm wrong but, he's just not playing that well right now and others are...

Keegan Bradley is a lock. Don't be so sure of Hunter Mahan because he won an event on a course he has played well on. Just saw and article by Mike VanSickle who didn't even have Keegan high in choices. Never liked the fact that Keegan kicked his son's ass all thru college and as a professional. Ryan Moore is going to be picked along with Webb Simpson !!!
